Thankyou for this video.. You just mentioned that we should not keep this roofed turtle at home instead we can keep red slider at home. I bought red slider 2 years back and he is doing good. He has a good growth. I just bought this roofed turtle and I am really worry about it as its so small and cute.- just 3 months Really need more video of roofed turtle, If anything else to take care of it. If you say to not keep this at home, I will return it but then they gonna sell it again to someone else. suggest something.

Hi sir, I just realised a couple of days ago that my 2 yaar old turtle is actually an Indian roofed turtle and not a red eared one. I feel disgusted with the petshop owner and the pathetic advice he gave me. It is currently in a 2 ft tank which has got a basking platform for him. I handle my turtle once a day for taking him out of the tank and putting him back in. He roams around in my room the whole day and in winters I let him out in my balcony for natural sunlight. How do I make sure that I give him a comfortable life ahead?

Your videos are informative......But today I want to make a correction in today's video......At the end of video u said u kept money plant or pothas in your tank but i suggest it is not good for tutte because as u have said turtle use to eat plants ke or in their tank money plants store calcium oxalate in the form of rapheids in their leaves......although we feed calcium supplement to turtles along with Vitamin D which is essential for healthy shell but Calcium oxalate is mildly toxic in nature and it can harm digestive tract of any pet animal including turtles.......So avoid keep money plant in direct contact of turtle.....although u can hang them along the walls of tank so just roots remain in contact of water.....This will also help to maintain the quality of water because roots of pothas absorbs toxic nitrites and nitrates......Hope u like my suggestion and if you want to confirm you can search about toxicity of pothas leaves on internet......Keep up the good work......Tak care

i am keeping money plant with my turtles since last twenty years or more than that but i havent seen any mortality among turtles by consuming it. they are other plants also which are toxic or contain calcium oxalate and turtles love to eat that like elegphant ears i have planted it near my pond because turtle consume that it is also toxic but they is no proof about them being harmful and benefits are more than negative effects so i always recommend for keeping this plant with turtles since everywhere in india it is easily avaliable and benefits are much more as compared to stated drawback, i guess either due to lack of research on turtles they is no valid proof of a turtle getting effected by consuming this plant, or may be calcium oxlate in mild quantity doesnt effects them. rather my experience turtles dont enjoy eating that but sometimes if they eat it doenot effects them at all so i always keep it and i share only things which are tried and tested by me so brother i stick to my words !

@@theturtleguru167 okay.......If u feel so then I don't have any objection.....Btw I specialised in phytochemistry so I thought I should share my opinion.....Possibly calcium oxalate is not that much harmful for turtles as you put......But there are reported evidences of toxicity symptoms in terrestrial animals like cats and dogs.....Also u aptly pointed out lack of research......I think I should discuss this with my zoologist friend....May be he would like to work on it......Anyways keep making wonderful videos.....Good night......

If he is about 6 months old then he must be very small when he was caught and he might not be able to survive in the wild as he is used to the comercial turtle food given to him ... I would recommend to give it some wildlife rehabilitation center or any zoological park were he would be taken care of by humans.... It's just my thought process...

Hii ... if the turtle was injured very badly then u get more take care of his shell protect him put him into a tank or a basket and put there near to the UVB light... the shell will recoverd as early as possible.. use betadin also.. and plzz dnt leave it into a jungle.. bcas if u leave him after leaving the same conditions happening chances is more thats y u keep as a ur god gifted turtl.. bcas you gave him a new life.. so take care him... n keep it safely in your House...

your turtle is becoming white due to fungi buildup on its shelf... kept it more in sunlight...and apply bitaden on its shell clean its shell... apply petroleum jelly on it..

yes i have kept this since last 3 years but large bodies of water dont get much heated and my pond also stays max at 28 or 29 .

This turtle is sold commonly in Pakistan by fish stalls and are very cheep, recently I bought one only for 900 Pakistani rupees on a small fish stall which had the turtle in a small plastic bag wilt coloured water.
