The strip joint veteran sits two away Smirking between dignified sips of his dignified peach and lime daiquiri And isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Oh, and isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Oh, but I'm afraid that I Well, I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead dead dead dead in this place Well I'm afraid that I Well that's right That I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead in this place And isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Oh, and isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Well I'm afraid that I Well, I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead dead dead dead in this place Well I'm afraid that I Well that's right That I may have faked it and I wouldn't be caught dead in this place And isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Oh, and isn't this exactly where you'd like me I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance and paying in naivety Praying for love and paying in naivety Praying for love and paying in naivety Oh, well imagine As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor And I can't help but to hear No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words "What a beautiful wedding What a beautiful wedding, " says a bridesmaid to a waiter "And, yes, but what a shame What a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore." I chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?" No, it's much better to face these kinds of things With a sense of poise and rationality I chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?" Well... did you know that it's rare to find a song on Fall Out Boy's Folie à Deux that doesn't transition into another song. They're all stitched together so divinely that even though they were recorded in multiple different studios, they fit together like a single recording session, it's gorgeous! I Don't Care (1s>) She's My Winona > America's Suitehearts > Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet. The (Shipped) Golden Standard is a gem, all on it's lonesome no less. ;-; I think (Coffee's for Closers) > What a Catch, Donnie sounds right. The silence between Donnie and 27 adds to the drama imo. 27 > Tiffany Blews W.A.M.S clicks the Nosebleed into place, and 20 Dollar Nosebleed > West Coast Smoker

I think i. Have a storyline for this: A man and his wife get into a fight, he goes to a strip club, attempts to cheat on his wife, but it IS his wife. The cops show up, the place gets busted, and he gets arrested. A few years later, when his ex wife is getting remarried, he crashes the wedding, and calls her a whore(because she worked at a strip club, she must've slept with lots of men), he causes a scene. The ex runs out, and minutes later, the groom and him find out she was cheating the whole time.

"(because she worked at a strip club, she must've slept with lots of men)" I work at a strip club. It's ridiculously obvious that you have no clue what you're talking about, lmao. Only someone who has never worked at a club, had the resources to spend much time in one, or actually been likeable enough for strippers to want to get to know them would be stupid enough to assume we've all "slept with lots of men". Just because TV and movies tell you we all "sleep with lots of men" doesn't mean we actually do. That's just bullshit written by men who WISH we would sleep with their broke, boring, talentless asses.

Man, I'm so glad this was uploaded to KZbin! Because if y'all had this CD growing up like I did, then you know that the transition between these two songs is flawless! Like legit, the album was recorded to be played this way and unfortunately, I don't think many people experienced it properly. But hey, Never Too Late To Learn!

Tbh the content of panic of the disco and this song along with they whole list of albums is what got me through the darkest time of December and the past i have with that month and still helps sooth my soul. Big ups to them mixing this song. DROP ANOTHER ALBUM THIS YEAR FRFR

a transition almost as good as 20 dollar nose bleed to west coast smoker

The entire album is full of transitions, don't you know? Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes > I Don't Care > (1s>) She's My Winona > America's Suitehearts > Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet. The (Shipped) Golden Standard is a gem, all on it's lonesome no less. ;-; I think (Coffee's for Closers) > What a Catch, Donnie sounds right. The silence between Donnie and 27 adds to the drama imo. 27 > Tiffany Blews W.A.M.S clicks the Nosebleed into place, and 20 Dollar Nosebleed > West Coast Smoker

going back and forth between this song and any song from Pray for the Wicked is so jarring, especially because of his voice.

I remember during my elementary days back in Manila , Philippines between 2005-2007 this song was so popular on Manila’s American Style FM Stations (especially on 97.1 Campus Radio DWLS FM) used to hear it everyday during traffic rush hour so much memories 😊

[Verse 1] Now I'm of consenting age To be forgetting you in a cabaret Somewhere downtown where a burlesque queen May even ask my name As she sheds her skin on stage I'm seated and sweating to a dance song on the club's PA The strip joint veteran sits two away Smirking between dignified sips of his dignified Peach and lime daiquiri [Chorus] And isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? [Verse 2] Oh, but I'm afraid that I, well, I may have faked it And I wouldn't be caught dead, d-dead, d-dead, d-dead in this place Well, I'm afraid that I, well, that's right, well, I may have faked it And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place [Chorus] And isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? [Bridge] Well, I'm afraid that I, well, I may have faked it And I wouldn't be caught dead, d-dead, d-dead, d-dead in this place Well, I'm afraid that I, well, that's right, well, I may have faked it And I wouldn't be caught dead in this place [Chorus] And isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? Oh, isn't this exactly where you'd like me? I'm exactly where you'd like me, you know Praying for love in a lap dance And paying in naivety? Praying for love and paying in naivety Praying for love and paying in naivety, oh
