The history of Teluk Kemang is somewhat obscure. In the past, it was an area of ​​wilderness and mangrove swamps . The area is meandering and there are many kemang trees growing there. The kemang tree is a type of tree whose fruit is like a small, green bean .
At the beginning of 1927 , there were six brothers who came from Selangor to the area. They are Bahir and his friends, Niat, Limat, Naemat, Jantan Kudung and Abdul Samad. There are also sources that say that these people work in the palace or the place of the chief in Selangor. However, it is not certain who the dignitaries are and where they come from. The story at that time was that foreign traders had come to their place to work and had deceived and pardoned the chiefs there so much so that the chiefs trusted them more than the local people. Maybe some of them know that the traders do not have good intentions for the sake of their business. Maybe many were disappointed and sullen at that time and decided to leave that place and take themselves anywhere until the six brothers traveled and found a beautiful place in the future Kemang Bay. There are sources that say that Niat has been appointed as the head of the area. It is not certain whether they each brought their wives and children together or they were the only ones who founded the place with the six of them and grew their lineage in that area only.
As with the name Melaka , the name Teluk Kemang is derived from the name of a kemang tree and the terrain of the place is full of coves. And with that, began the origin of the residents in the area since 1880 until now. The area of ​​Telok Kemang beach is about 1.6km. the length from Kemang Indah to Baitul Hilal.
