I've never listened to Pantera. Even my dad never played Pantera in the house while I was growing up so I'm not very familiar with them

The way Dimebag did those big shrieks was so wild, too. From what he said on some old GW video, he would slacken the strings by dumping the bar, pick the open string with a fretting finger, and do kind of a reverse tap harmonic where instead of tapping with the finger he'd keep it in the right spot and tighten the string back up with the whammy bar to hit the finger with the string instead. Completely insane technique and I could never get it right myself.
