My wife Deb, my soulmate for 41 years passed away February 20th 2022 from cancer. When we first met she was all about AC/DC & Black Sabbath. Through the years I expanded her mind to include the most awesome heavy metal. Pantera was one of her favorites! She also loved Dave Mustaine and Eric AK. Live on Among the Stars babe I'll be with you again someday..." you left me incomplete all alone as the memories still remain"( from Cemetery Gates)

I was heartbroken I would have been a God in my neighborhood if they had, plus my mom God rest her soul Lars gave me a set of his drum sticks and my mom made me give them back to him because as my mom said he needed them to play the concert with, I was angry with her for a very long time for that, but at the same time if she hadn't stopped when I seen their bus I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet all of them and they were all very cool and down to earth. In college I had this roommate who always played metal (he still is one of the best metal guitarists I know). He was always playing crazy stuff with his 5th chords and bottom 3 string hammer-ons and pull offs on our acoustic guitars. My playing was more rock & blues. It was always a laugh about our musical difference. One day he starts playing this melodic riff, so I turn around and take a look, it's a beautiful passage based on an F#m. So I ask "Wow! What is that song?", he grinned, looked at me out of the corner of his eye and said "Cemetery Gates".

Metal bands do the best ballads ever. I'm 52 I was the oldest of 3 brothers until last year. I got em both into metal day one pretty much. My middle brother died in 11 from an asthma attack, he was 36. My little brother last year from fentanyl poisoning, he was 32. He had been lost since our brother died, saying he wanted to go and be with him and such. I hope they found each other. As for me the music is all I have now, I am the last of my line. My acceptance and peace with their loss has eluded me so far and it's a good chance it always will... the oldest goes first not last, point is, tell each other what they mean to you and that you love them. Lost my mom to COVID a few months back, she wasn’t really a Pantera fan, but my dad was and I guarantee they’re up there and she’s hanging with John Lennon and telling my dad to turn down the rock music! For everyone who has lost someone “stay strong, rock on” 🤘
