Super cool seeing your progression! Novice downhiller myself, try placing your glove down hand closer to the board and you should have an easier time keeping weight on the front foot in heelsides. I also had a hard time skating square lips with the factory grip on the Athena, went for a few patches of Lokton where its important and massively improved it for me. Hope this helps, skate on!

Thanks and thank you for advice-always welcome. Glad you’re into fun stuff, too. Yes, trying to place hand more close to board and mostly recently started more toward front. Will posting video compilation soon.

Nice work! That last one you did at 4:47 was noticeably better. You see how the back knee was tucked in toward your front leg further? This is kind of like rock climbing/center of balance basics, but you’re bringing the center forward, and that’s going to help you a lot with control and staying on the deck. Good luck!

Much thanks and greatly appreciated for the incredible board and the comment. Yes, definitely seeing significance of balance basics and do plan on building on it for more skill with time. 🙏🤘

Compared to your first hill bomb, your sliding has come so far! It's nice having the ability to stop on a skateboard any time, any speed.

Thank you and much appreciated. Still quite away from consistent technique, but definitely zero doubt I can stop. So enjoying the practice sessions and more fun with each learning skill set.

Hey man. Dope slide and dope setup. Looking good and sounds like you know what to do to get better. But also wanted to ask are you using the stock bushings or have you played with that at all. Messing with your bushing can change the feel of your whole board for thr better most of the time.
@cantskate55352 ай бұрын
Thank you. Truthfully, I have not played around bushings yet it was initial set up by Nick at Muirskate. I wanted to spend some more time on it before messing with it. I did change the trucks to another board and felt more confident. Will be posting soon on that.

@@cantskate5535thats awesome man hell yeah. And that great, i normally buy most my bushings from there. And just some tips. So your not questioning things. For all the trucks you have, your gonna need short or standard sized bushings. Make sure you go softer in the front and harder in the back if you are running a split. Speed wobbles start from the back. So thats why a harder back truck. And the bushing themselves are confusing with all the different brands and what they do. I prefer seismic bushings, because they have a higher rebound than venom hpf formula to me. Venom bushings feel very direct to me. Honestly i would just talk to the people at muriskate. They will probably be able to give you some more help. But also if your ever in the el paso or Las Cruces NM area hit me up. A buddy of mine and i skate down here a bit. Lots of awesome hill. Bur stay safe man and looking good again.

@@DewayneRhodes-y7j wicked cool notes and definitely willing to try new make bushings. I do run harder on the rear which is 93 boardside and 95 street. A lot of my wobbles or instability occur during adjustments or transition movements (stand to crouch, tuck to stand, tuck to crouch), but practicing the transitions. El Paso is Hueco Tanks, a renowned bouldering area and if out there-heck yeah, would love to meet up and learn from you. Thank you.

Gotta love Hawgs thane for slides. There's a mod you can add to prevent your front foot slipping on heelside slides. It's called a toestop; Scythe has a really nice one. BTW, is the weird sound just the Cuei's lips interacting with the pavement? Nothing out of the ordinary if you ask me. They are just trying to grip. edit: Or is it the bearings not rolling anymore? Do the wheels have a lot of friction when you try to free spin them?
@cantskate55353 ай бұрын
Truthfully not really sure on the sound. I changed them out. I will have to check the Cuei bearings and maybe the inside is touching the truck? Odd though since they were on before and no issues. I’ll try the other foot stop, too. Thanks.

try making your knee as close as possible so it would be more stable and put your hand a bit more infront so you wont be dragging it really good seeing you improve each video
@cantskate55353 ай бұрын
Thank you and will try that.

Study your front foot placement,it's not ideal. Try a tad less pointing it forward,move the angle of the footstop a bit . And definitely less toe hanging off front edge of the board,hang more of front foot off heal side
@cantskate55353 ай бұрын
Thank you. That does seem to make sense as even when I’m weighting the front-it still feels unbalanced because I am pointing more forward. Will be trying that tonight.
