You’re usually on point Chris, but you could not be more wrong about scheduling opponents for several reasons. 1. The CFP system. There’s always a path to the postseason if you’re in a big conference, and guess what, we are. 2. If Pitt is actually gonna be relevant nationally, then in that given year, they would be more than capable of beating real opponents. Artificially inflating wins will ALWAYS come back to bite you when it matters. 3. As a fan, don’t you want to see interesting games? Do you want to spend the next 20 years of covering Pitt play some directional college? From a pure enjoyment factor, give me some real games. 4. The one time Pitt was relevant in the last 15 years (KP season), it was the scheduling of a perceived lower tier team that did them in, not the other way around. Had they scheduled a real opponent, they might have played like they were capable of doing. End of rant, Carry on!

I want Pitt to play Penn State and West Virginia every year. If you schedule teams like Duquesne, nobody shows up to the games.
