Chris is literally lying. you can accuse Bryce of a lot of thing, but to say the kid is afraid to get hit is ridiculous. He stands there & gets hit consistently.

As a Panther who watched most of the games last season, Simms is talking in broad generalizations here. He held onto the ball, he took hits. A lot of that was an awful line and receivers who couldn't get open. Young got crushed time and again, he got up.

Bryce young definitely isn't as bad as these guys act like he is. Put him on the Texans last year and he would have performed like cj stroud. Dude took hits and never shyed from contact. His receivers were literally the worst in the league last year. His oline was terrible. Tell me how to succeed when you can't throw the ball to yourselve. Tell me that after 6 games in you wouldn't be afraid to through the ball to a guy who drops them everytime.

@NFLonNBC can you guys watch more film please? Like actual film? Bryce had 1 singular second most plays to get rid of the ball or run because his O-Line kept getting blown up, his receivers were NOT open to the point for the first time I've ever noticed, all year the commentators were pointing out that the receivers were NOT open. Between Bryce getting hit more than anyone last year and his receivers being the most locked up of any WR group, what are you, professionals, even trying to say about the kid and that he's not processing fast enough or not standing in the pocket taking hits to throw the ball? WHERE is he supposed to throw? And when they WERE open, you had a coin flip's chance of them DROPPING the ball. Yes, Bryce missed some throws, but good god between coaching staff, WRs, and O-Line, NO ONE did him any favors. And lets not forget that until later in the year, the run game was abysmal
@gabesheaffer7757
@gabesheaffer7757 4 ай бұрын
Bryce had the 10th longest time to throw and was dead last in yards per attempt. So he's holding longer than most, to throw it 4 yards down the field.......thats terrible and should tell you he's holding the ball way too long. Nobody was open after the Vikings game because we stopped calling deep routes altogether and that's a whole 1/3 of the field the defense doesn't have to worry about so obviously no one is going to get open underneath because no one is worried about the deep pass. The excuses for this kid are not only invalid but they are ridiculous. Maybe you should watch some film
@gabesheaffer7757
@gabesheaffer7757 4 ай бұрын
Also Bryce didn't get hit more than anyone last year lol wasn't a coin flip chance for drops because we only had 14 drops all year out of 550+ attempts. You really just talking with no facts behind it.

If the run game is ineffective, only one receiver can separate (Thielen), there isn't much for the QB to process other than to force feed Thielen again or run for his life and throw the ball away. Hopefully, the new weapons are enough to keep defenses honest and give Bryce a chance to see the field from a cleaner pocket, make quality choices, and move the offense.

Can't do that if Laviska is unavailable due to injury. Legette is going to be the jump ball option for 50/50 balls and deep threat this year. In the long run, the new receivers on the roster all do different things well and should provide a more balanced passing attack.
