I would buy bulk snacks my kids would go through them as if they had never eaten before. I was so upset that when we had visitors we didn't have a biscuit to offer them (i'm from the uk) For the next 2 months I bought nothing that resembled a treat , they would ask where are the snacks do we have any squash (juice you add water to) I would reply don't you remember you ate and drank everything you didn't think of others or another day. So now when I buy treats they do think they are 100% better . They don't want to go back to having nothing ever again. Nothing wrong with asking before taking. On the inside of my pantry door I have a list of everything I have and how much of each Item as I use it I cross off how many tins/ packet I have taken out makes my shopping list a lot easier as I'm not over buying.

I was so excited to see you posted this video. That pantry cabinet fits perfectly by your stove and the deep shelves are awesome. You don't have room to go horizontal, so it is perfect. I have those same canisters and wanted to give you a hint about something I learned the hard way. To dry the lids, remove the rubber seal, the stand the lid on its side. You will see the drainage holes. Overnight drying ensures complete drying. Can't wait to see your next video. Maybe your daughter has a future in hand modeling. Your kids are so cute.

I was that crazy mom that locked the pantry when I wasn’t in the kitchen. I never imagined I would do that but the kids were not listening. That was 15 years ago. I did let them eat healthy food in the refrigerator. Lots of cut up fruits and veggies. Those weren’t as popular! I love this vlog. Very motivational.

Asking Helps keeps the kids more accountable for what they are eating for sure. I think it’s a great habit! Sad part is so many of the foods contain addictive ingredients that makes kids feel hungry and craving those foods... I switched to cleaner ingredients and organic as much as possible, really helped make a huge difference in so many aspects! Love watching you and the transformations happening!!!

Great job on the reorganization. So glad it brings you peace. In our family it worked two ways: 1. My father would go to the farmers market on payday and come home with fresh fruit and cold cuts and dinner meat and the fruit and cold cuts would be gone in a couple days. He would be so disheartened because he knew what it felt like to be hungry growing up. Then my parents would buy in bulk and get boxes of the same snack and after we had them once or twice we would say, "There's no good snacks!" Amazing we are all still alive!

I understand and agree with you about the "ask first rule". It's good to have it🙋🏽‍♀️Mine are 3 teenagers- twin daughters age 16 and a 13 yr old, and if I didnt enforce it, everthing would be gone in no time! Since then, they have decreased the amount of snacks they eat. Im loving the way you organized your pantry! I wish I more room as you do, for storage. I would buy my kids their own individual snacks. They learned quickly that if they ate them all in one day they were s... outta luck until I went shopping again. They learned to slow down in the junk food. Of course I always had plenty of fruit in the house so it worked out well for my kids

LOL I have taught my grandkids to ask for food, just like I did their parent. Otherwise they will snack ALL DAY and won't eat at dinner time. You remind me of myself, I just found your channel today and have watched several of your videos. I always clean the biggest Item first, bed, table etc and I love love love organization- makes life so much less stressful. I always teach them life skills also, takes longer but they learn a skill for life and helps with sharing the work load.

I have 2 girls 6 & 12. They have free reign with fruits and veggies . I only buy sweets occasionally. Cereal is always plain grains, only on special occasions do I buy surger coated ones. They will be home schooling this year, so I'll be getting granola bars, and lots of peanut butter & crackers, too. Love organizing vids, thanks for sharing.
