Slightly off topic. I once took some students to a war museum. We were introduced to two elderly gentlemen. One was an ex RAF ace with 5.5 kills. The other was ex Luftwaffe (stuka) with 50 Soviet tank kills. My students clapped him. I quietly told them that the Soviet Union were on our side! Brilliant photos Iggy lad ❤

I never thought of myself like that. I did have a kid tell me that I was the coolest guy he ever met. I asked why? And he said because you don't give a fig that you're not cool and you don't care.

Great pics of your army days iggy, were you in the forces in germany in the late 70's/early 80's?,only going off your uniform & helmet in those outside your tank photo's?,was it a M60 tank you drove btw, just wondering?,I have that same Meng model A7V kit,I only about 2 thirds built the model as I found it abit over-engineered & complicted to build but I do like the models of world war one vehicles & aircraft like the Wing Nut Wings kits from New Zealand they have released in the last 10 to 15 years or so though, very interesting subject matter & it makes a break from all the WW2 model kits too I reckon, the only true existing A7V tank left in the world from WW1 is in a museum in Queensland here, given to the Australians as war booty when our guys captured it in 1918 & brought over here after the war & put on display along with captured german WW1 artillery which in alot of places here at war memorials & returned servemen's league clubs & the like, cheers

We had the M60A1 and later the M60A3. When I got out of the service they were just introducing the Abrams

there is a returned servces league club at a at a town about 3 quarters of an hours drive south of where I live and sometimes go food shopping, etc. when I have to go into the city for my medical appointments & such, anyhow there is a world war one german medium artillery gun on display there, another youtuber I watch regularly on here named mark felyon productions did a story last year on the WW1 'Trophy' guns that were captured & put on display across england & across the then rmpire after the november 1918 armistice,a great channel iggy, mark feton productions, great sometimes 10 to 20 minute war stories, all very interesting, cheers

so Awesome,I remember them using M60's as german tanks in the 1965 Henry Fonda movie 'Battle of the bulge' & 1970's 'Patton' with George C.Scott, which is one of my alltime favourite war movies still,I love the last quote made by Patton at the end of that movie, when He was talking about the triumphant Roman General being given his victory parade with all his recent war 'booty' through Rome & how 'Victory is fleeting',they don't make movies like this anymore, trully the golden age of hollywood indeed it was in my books, cheers
