The Yamato DID change direction to begin with, angling through the first spread of torps. They must have not been expecting more torps so quickly though, because that was their last manoeuvre.

It's a bug. When the last ship was sunk, the other side was credited with the kill, instead of his side. He had a pretty big lead.
