A day in my life when my kid gets sick in Japan. We pretty much stuck in our Japanese home and Japanese apartment taking care of our son Wolfy hoping that he recovers as soon as possible. This a Japanese vlog style video to document what really happens behind the scenes when our kid gets sick and we have to stop our video production. I'm hoping he recovers quickly and we're back next week with our regular Japan videos :-) In the meantime, in enjoy a peek into our tokyo life and japan life.

This is such a sweet slice of every family's everyday life. Weather it's sick children, spouses, parents or grandparents - family comes first but that is never easy to combine with work responsibilities. Wolfie is absolutely precious.. so I was raising my children in the 70s and my husband worked outside of the home all day.. I was a housewife and stayed home and took care of the kids and the house and the groceries and cleaning and everything else which I absolutely loved.. times are so different now.. very very different.. but anyway.. Wolfie is a joy to watch..Thank you..

As for this earthquake… “I pray that you and your family are safe.” Too many sad memories of the other one, which happened 11 years and 7 days ago, only to have this one follow just a few days after the anniversary of the last one; so close to the same area. I lost too many good friends in that one and I still grieve over their loss still today. It is a great reminder to all of us that Mother Nature will always win in the end and remind us about our mortality. Stay safe and many blessings to you.

Hey Paolo I'm also having the same issue with my son every two to three weeks since starting day care he catches the flu which can be really stressful every country is different but where I'm from it's common for anyone having a high fever to take a ice cold bath that's what I've been doing with my son along with the medicine his pediatrician recommends but the fastest method that works best is a really cold bath trust me it won't be easy for them to stay in for 5 to 10 minutes but after you'll thank yourself

So funny. Where im from its recommended not to do that especially with little kids cos the shock of the cold can actually cause the body to direct blood away from extremities in an attept to heat the core up which can further increase the temp. They recommend accurate weight based dosing alternating with paracetamol and ibuprofen.

I certainly hope little wolfy is feeling much better. Something I did to help my little one when they had a fever was to dab their face with a cool damp cloth. It always seemed to help with the discomfort of a hot face. Stay safe and stay awesome💜

Australian childcare teacher here. Before covid we sent children home if they had 38 degree and above temps. Now it’s 37.5 and any other covid symptom and must get rapid or PCR before they return. We normally give Panadol (pain relief) and take clothes off and put a cold washer on. We use in ear thermometers but can be immaculate with ear wax. It’s also hard when parents get frustrated when we have to send children home. We are doing it for their own health and well-being! Hope he got lots of rest and the temp went down quickly!
