XiTsonga musician and TV star Penny Penny has just revealed his plans for expanding his funeral cover business.
He has also quelled any doubts that people have over whether or not he knows what he’s doing.
The entertainer launched his own funeral insurance business in 2018 and this week we took a closer look at how the business is shaping up on the most recent episode of his hit reality show, Papa Penny Ahee.
Considering some of the outlandish claims that the singer makes on his show, many people were skeptical about the seriousness of this latest business venture. Some felt that he was joking, while others suggested that if he was serious, Penny Penny might find himself in over his head as he knows nothing about the funeral insurance industry.
However, the man from Limpopo has hit back at his critics in an impassioned interview where he revealed that not only are his plans real but he’s confident that they will be successful.
Speaking to Tshisa Live on Thursday, Papa Penny shared his determination to grow Papa Penny Funeral Cover to international heights. He also admitted that the inspiration for his idea was somewhat racially motivated when he said, “The idea to start this came to me one day. I thought: why are all these insurances owned by white people, most of them foreigners who have big houses in Cape Town that they visit?
“Why not have funeral covers that are from home, from someone who understands what death is to us as black people and how we deal with it and what we need the most? Who said insurance must be owned by whites only? So I started one and I haven’t looked back since we opened last year.”.....
