In this discourse from 14th January 1993, Papaji speaks about consciousness.
In an instant of time, consciousness experiences vast infinite periods of creation, endlessly, but is not affected by any happening or non-happening. Within the consciousness there is no difference between subject and object. All creations are happening in this instant of time, where everything rises and falls. In this instant, there is also the realization that nothing ever has been created. In this instant you enquire who are you. If you don't enquire this instant will infinitely hang over you.
Papaji mentions that in the West we are attached to suffering but this can be avoided because it is not real as it is not permanent.
"We don’t believe in suffering here. You are bliss itself. Happiness is your nature."
"Where there are others you are dreaming. Even now you are dreaming. If you sleep for a wink of an eye, you wake up and you will see who you are. Means don't touch a thought 'I am a body'."
"Don't think. If you don't think for one second tell me where you have landed. It takes you only one second to be happy and in this one second, you will have tremendous bliss of timelessness. If you get rid of this 'I' for one moment you are free."

In my sufferings of addiction I felt the ultimate suffering with the feeling of being separate from GOD/GOD CONSCIOUSNESS. But in the darkness of this suffering it created a strong longing for a living a life of a spiritual aspirant and the merging with CONSCIOUSNESS again. Thus the inquiry of WHO AM I has begun.

My last attachment was to my body form. I now realize that mist like in my dream I come into my body and my mind in that dream, I also do the same in my waking state. The two experiences are similar. I have a form, I experience and I have thoughts. Then when I wake up I do the same thing here. In the dream I was the experiencer, the experience and all the objects within my dream. How is it then not possible I am not that in my waking state? The world in my waking state is my minds project and my body experiences those i my experience. I am asleep in my dream experiencing my mind. What a realization thank you!

Next time you experience a strong emotion that's overpowering you, stop for a second and observe it. Just observe the feeling without any stories about it or whatever it means to your life. Just feel the emotion as it is. Perhaps it involves a burning sensation in the stomach or maybe a flutter in the heart. Observe its physical manifestations in your body. But also observe its effects on your mind. Maybe it makes the thoughts start racing. Maybe it confuses the thinking apparatus. Observe all the facets of the overwhelming emotion, scientifically. The way you might observe a strange bug you see walking nearby. Or maybe the way you observed raindrops on a window when you were a kid. Really the goal is to learn to ride your emotions the way a Surfer rides waves. You don't just crash into them and you don't just let yourself get pulled under. With practice you can learn to ride them to shore. (Jesus said when you learn how to suffer you also learn how not to suffer!)
