Anything without countermeasures/AA missiles is just pain at this BR. Doesnt matter if its a MiG23 or whatever. It's a free kill for the enemy team. But you can have fun if theres no enemy planes or SPAAs, rarely happens though.

Yeah thats how I feel right now about the 8.7/10/0 bracket, it feels basically useless to fly anything without countermeasures, there's the AV8A, Su25 premium, Su 25 tech tree, A5C, Mig 21 SPSK and A-10 to name a few. There's just almost no way to have a good time without a missile up your ass in a plane without countermeasures it feels like, so I either fly one of the mentioned above or you fly at 10.3 and you enjoy the downtier into Su-25 spam... I have the insane luck of getting a free talisman for the T-2, but that thing is quite painful to fly imo... But hey I want that shiny EJ Kai...

Can't wait for the G.91 Y video tomorrow. Played a few battles with the YS to unlock Yunis, and it was just as much of a clusterfuck as I expected. I just flew around the entire battlefield and preyed on the A-10As who were way behind their teammates with zero situational awareness. Killed a couple Jaguars and Harriers too, but I stayed the hell away from the Su-25K spam.

Well, soviets really needed to give this plane some other name, because it's already not a mig-23 fighter, but at the same time it's still not yet mig-27. It's actually a very stripped down and simplified version of 23 which mainly was in use of many third-world countries as strike aircraft. IRL it didn't even had radar warning receiver.

All other things aside, I'm impressed at that kill in the clouds. You could only see his afterburner. There's not a chance in hell I'd be able to do that lol. If it's in the clouds, I'm fairly screwed. I can't aim super well and my missiles can't lock. Edit: Good on you for not stealing the kill once you noticed he was good as gone. Sooo many times I'll have teammates steal my kill after I set someone on fire with my guns. Yesterday some fool actually wasted a missile on someone I set on fire, he was so desperate to get a kill. He was in an F-5C so the stereotype holds up, which makes me sad because I fly the F-5C as well 😂😂

As is tradition, the stock grind was terrible. Cannon pods and S24s are third row, so you make do with 200 rounds of GSH23 until then. Also, due to the plethora of Su-25s, out of 38 games, I was downtiered once. I switched over to the Mig-21MF and get the exact same matchmaking but now have flares and missiles. You do have the potential to see 11.3 but it's rare, at least for now.

Then again, gameplay of certain vehicles changes significantly depending on the matchmaker around them. Once the Su-25 spam cools down a bit, it’s performance relative to other vehicles at or around its BR will be more realistic. So it’s too early to tell either way.

Killing stuff isnt the issue, if youre decent at the game you can easily slam people with the 3x Gsh. The issue right now with it is that it doesn't have flares, which means if youre within 2km of any SU-25 youre literally not allowed to play the game. With how much the Su25 is being spammed now, tthats basically your whole match, every match.

Set them for 1000m i strugle using them sometimes too i have my distance set to miles but the range for the rockets can be set in metres only not feet/miles and can't be changed.

What is your opinion of the Mig-19S? I remember it was somewhat positive? Is this not essentially a flat upgrade over the Mig-19S at the same BR, with many of the same problems. I really think 9.7 is miserable in general, but that it's extra miserable for planes like this..

@@jonwinfield9193 Previously, it would often dodge one Aim-9L with a barrel roll, but the second can often kill it.. and that was before they fixed Aim-9L overlead in this patch.. and fired from A-10, which can't fly very fast. New Aim-9L and R-60M might eat it alive. It's probably not playable at all currently.

You can set a explosion distance on the S-24 Rockets. They'll then explode at the set distance.

@Defyn Could you make a Video about countering the SU-25 Spam. I managed to pull some rly awesome stuff experimenting in this current Matchup Hell. And i have to conclude, SU-25s are way less of a thread than A10 spam. You can easily counter Su-25s with AIM9Bs or better Es and higher in Headons. When they are dumb enough you can even Manage headon Kills with them because they tend to flare alot while flying staight^^ I sometimes managed to Dodge 2x R60s or AIM9L with a single AIM9E or J. I even got 2 Headon Kills in the Vautour with Shafir 1^^ S-21 and S-24 as well as Zunis should also worl well against R60s. Same goes for Mavericks if you try to headon Kill an Su-25 with that. Didnt had luck with that so far. A10s are more dangerous because their cannon in Headons is more risky to face, they can adjust faster to still hit you when you try to dodge and headon, AIM9Ls are more resitant, A10A Lates can carry 4, so its hard to get them waste all of them before they get dangerous. A10s can turn around way better and throw an AIM9L at you from behind that has about 1km-1.5km more effective range than an R60. As soon as the Su.25s are out of R60s they are easy prey. The most dangerous is when they have several that stay together in a group, than you have a rly hard time to face them without flares.

with the mig23 you want to run the s24s as falres not killing material, basically if you go just a bit to the side of su25 when you see the r60 at like 2km mark you launch the r24 and it will always track it no matter if you have afterburner on or off, works with aim9l as well. I enjoy flying it, basically only threat at it's br is mig19 but you can just extend

MiG23 is better overall while the 19s can do rate fighting better and has easier to use cannons (NR-30s) overall ur choice, do u wanna be fast and a good dogfighter? or do u wanna be a primarily boom and zoom aircraft that has SOME dogfighting capability. I would say you go with both or u see which playstyle fits u. Good luck

You should revisit F104A. At 10.0 it’s pretty much useless, it used to dominate when it was at 9.7 but nowadays I don’t think it would be OP. Lightnings are at 9.3, this thing is at 9.7…

They used to be alot more effective when missiles were first added to the game. they couldn't handle more than 1 heat signature in their sight so they just all went crazy as soon as you flew close to anything hot, like a rocket or other jet. Gaijin kinda fixed it though so now really only flares really work against heat seekers

Are the S-5k's proximity? or are you using a keybind to manually detonate? I didn't realize they were that good vs Air. I've just been using it to ground pound AI. I have to run 20m fuel minimum just to make use of all my armament. Having a lot of fun with this variant, if only we could get some flares... I'd even take wing mount. Now even looking at the German tree, they really need more of something that can compete with the su25/a10. Their 8.0-11.0 is abysmal in terms of armament.
