TOAD TOWN'S IN TROUBLE
Mario and Luigi receive an invitation from Princess Peach to attend an origami festival and excitedly hurry to Toad Town…but something’s amiss. After investigating the eerily empty town, the duo finds a fearsome (and folded) Princess Peach-she’s been turned into origami by King Olly, self-proclaimed ruler of the Origami Kingdom! With five giant streamers under his control, King Olly binds Princess Peach’s Castle and transports it to a distant mountain as part of his plan to re-fold the world.
To take on these folded fiends, Mario will have to learn some new fighting skills. Face off with the Folded Soldiers in ring-based battles where you strategically line up enemies to maximize damage. Out of battle, Mario can use the arm-extending 1,000-Fold Arms ability in specific spots to interact with the landscape to pull, peel, hit, and more! Using the unique properties of paper, help Mario unfold new paths, explore vast environments, unlock the secret of an ancient ruin, brave the raging rapids, step out on stage, visit a string of islands, appear on a quiz show, and even participate in a mid-air battle!

Super Mario Bros 3 was a stage play, Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy were movies/TV series, and the New Super Mario Bros series are all stage plays *(Super Mario Maker even has you, the player, be the director, letting the stage play out the way you want it).* The Paper Mario series are a pop-up book series. I think the only one that was real is the original Super Mario Bros and after that everything else is just a retelling of the original story. In their free time when they're not acting out their roles they're all having fun having get-togethers parties, playing sports and go-karting.

I think the English version for this game is bit toned down. In the original Japanese version, The goomba in 7:03 is just a cute little kid character with a countryside accent. He was very friendly to Mario and genuinely just came into eat something good and enjoy the festival with his parents. Which is the reason why it was a shocking moment when he died miserably in the very beginning.

I'll admit I was excited about buying this game and then I read some of the reviews which weren't as good as I hoped. So I was on the fence. I've never played a Paper Mario game and these let's plays will be real handy when I get this game eventually. My sister works in a big store that sells all sorts of things and they had a sale on Paper Mario: The Origami King. Sis said she got copies of Paper Mario for me and her husband, but I'm not getting my copy til Christmas so that gives me plenty of time to watch these let's plays.
