You need to do more videos or maybe even a book. I can find plenty of simple paper piecing patterns but I have huntered high and low to find someone to show me how to create my own. You have made it so clear that I feel I at least understand the method. Thankyou so much. And if you do come up with a book, I would be ever so interested.

My SIL asked for help creating an FPP pattern and I’d never even heard of it before. This is by far the best tutorial I’ve found. I had a lot of fun helping her with the pattern. Thank you!! ❤

I just want to say thank you for such a great video! You have done a wonderful job of not only explaining how its done but also giving great visuals to go along with everything!

This tutorial is great at explaining the basics (or even how to start!) of creating a design from a complex image. If you do another video, a simpler image would really help get a solid grasp, but I'll be rewatching this over and over to get my design right.

I was too! I had to teach myself through trial and error and then it clicked in my brain. I'll definitely make more.

This really does help put the design process in perspective. I get a little confused about how to number within each section.
@meganruthstay4482 жыл бұрын
I'll work on how to do the number order

Hi Megan, I would call your method as modern paper piecing; can you tell me how you came across this and if there were other KZbins or books you would suggest? Thanks.

Brilliant explanation - it's actually easy if you think about it first!

This is helping paper pieceing come together for me, but I still don't understand how I decided/know where my number sequence goes.

I have drawn up my own thing that I'm working on paper piecing it together but I'm struggling with how to section it out. Is there any way you could give me a hand with it?

From your drawing what do you do? Do you take it into photoshop? Or paper piece right from that picture?
@meganruthstay4482 жыл бұрын
I've sewing directly onto the paper patterns I've made my hand before. Normally I would do this portion in photoshop as well.

I didn't understand this tutorial.. how does this work in paper piecing? It would have been nice to have seen how you did the paper piecing after you did your markings on the picture... God bless..

There are lots and lots of tutorials on how to SEW the FPP patterns. This is specifically on how to DESIGN. Hope you found what you were looking for elsewhere.

Thanks I really want to learn how to do this. I think the picture was too tiny for me to grasp the process. Could you please do another video and maybe use a coloring book page. I can’t find any other videos like this. Is there a how to book? Thanks again Sandy

I definitely need to do another video. I had the same issue as you did, couldn't find how to design my own without software.

Do you have a rule of thumb on your picture on making it bigger. To make a quilt out of it. I hope this question doesn't sound dumb 😂😂

Great video, but i think a bit slower and more in depth about why you have to do it that way.
@jobhamilton2 жыл бұрын
Do you have to mirror the image?
@meganruthstay4482 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you want it to be the way you see it on the paper then it needs to be a mirror image.
