Why do you feel it’s super important to use 100% cotton thread? =). I LUV my gutermann thread or I like Superior’s Sew Fine

That’s what I’ve always been taught. Using cotton thread with cotton fabric. But I always like to tell students that it’s your quilt... so use what YOU like and are comfortable with! I’m only giving suggestions based on my own experiences. Stick with what you love.

@@jennyclark495 The myths about cotton thread have largely been debunked, particularly given the quality of threads now. As poly is stronger than cotton, you can use 80wt thread which is as strong as 50wt cotton. I use Wonderfil Decob. It performs well in paper piecing. Glide 60 is also a lovely thread. The papers tear more easily with the poly. The finer threads reduce bulk in blocks with many seams. But I agree that it is a preference..many ways to skin the quilt cat.

@@notesfromleisa-land thanks for your insight! I’ve used glide thread and it is wonderful. I never thought about it working better to tear the paper easier. Also, bonus of less Cotton “fuzz”
