Spectacular! My mother in law had never seen a lightening bug and I’d never seen a prairie dog. It was fun to show each other!
@SuNNStampin4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! I am thinking prairie dog is the same thing as a gopher or ground hog? I have seen both of them.
@kimcondas4 жыл бұрын
Nope, they are cute little rodents that live in the desert and just pop up out of their holes and zip back in. She grew up in WY and it’s prairie-dog-central there. She thought it was hysterical that I’d never seen one

I always love your videos...just have to share: I live in Arizona now, as I'm retired", but I grew up in a small southern Kansas town, in the country....we use to catch the "fire flies" - "lightnening bugs", as we new them and put them in a jar (with little air holes) and watch them light up our rooms.....then we would turn them loose again.....it was so special to sit out side on a nice summer eve and watch these lovely little creatures from God :)
@SuNNStampin4 жыл бұрын
Aw thanks Diana. I am glad you let them go too!
@charlottehammond11934 жыл бұрын
They do light up. As kids we used to catch them, put them in a jar and use it for a night light! They are still all over our yard every night during the summer.

Love your cards!!! Where I live in southern QC, we have a "fairy light show" every night during the early months of summer. It is best seen near a pond, marsh, or in tall grasses, edge of the woods. When we were kids, we would catch quite a few in a jar for our "flashlight". After 15 minutes we would set them free. It is a "show" I am never tired of seeing 🥰

Never in my lifetime have I laid eyes on these fire flies, an armadillo or a wild cactus. Weird huh. I have seen Moose, Caribou, and bears in the wild. Even a cougar too. I had a ladybug in my house the other day. You know, just hangin out with me and the fuzz butts.

Must be a southern thing! I need to research about fireflies. But in a field at night with dew on the grass the flood of fireflies are so amazing. I used to as a child capture a jar full, with holes poked in the metal lid and have them in my bedroom as a nightlight. Let them go the next morning. It was magical! But these cards bring back memories.

I love your alternatives. They are always so much fun! I live in Ohio oon the shores of Lake Erie. I never knew other places didn't have them. It's childhood summertime fun to catch "lightening bugs," as they are called here. Always released before we went inside for bed.

We don't have armadillos, cactus, or palm trees here either. Which I am thoroughly disgusted about. Apparently all three cannot survive our weather.

Gorgeous cards Susanne. I love the kit and the add ons. Your video on it is the only one I watched since we can't get PP and I stopped watching the videos on it. I still wanted to see your cards because you always come up with such nice cards and you think outside the box. You are so my kind of person, feeling sorry for the paper fireflies. I pick up snails and frogs when the wander on the road and if there is an animal in need I try to help it.

Great alternatives, as always! I live in Missouri, U.S., and fireflies were pretty thick in June. We always liked catching them, but released them the same night. Btw, is YT inserting more and more ads now? I saw 4 or 5 in this video.
@SuNNStampin4 жыл бұрын
I don't know about the ad insertion. I think the longer the video the more they pop in. I am sorry :( I wish I could produce these videos without ads. Simply, I can't. I work too hard with very little pay so I have to monetize here. I wish there was another way.
@marshaknatcal1044 жыл бұрын
You do work hard and I so appreciate you! I can skip the ads; they're just annoying when trying to enjoy an awesome crafter do her thing. 🥰

They are not every where, i grew up in Ohio, USA and they are there eastern part of USA, have never seen them in Montana. yes their bottom part does light up. We called them lighting bugs or fire flys.
