I used a box cutter to get to the intricate spots you can use an exact knife as well since the scissors hurt my knuckles. If you do all if the videos from video #1 about time you get to this video you'll be able to make it with no problem

You're not paying attention. If you don't cut on the right fold it won't come out right. Use the pause and go back as many times as you need.

You can use medium/ heavy weight paper. It is harder to fold and cut but more beautiful for decorating. And it will not be flimsy. ☺️
