I loved all the carnage you could cause, as well as all the good deeds they would write about in the papers you are delivering. I played both the NES and SNES versions. I find it funny the NES paper (aside from the Game Over) always has the same picture of a cop pointing at some broken windows despite whatever the front page story is.
@Dorian_Scott3 жыл бұрын
It does the same exact thing in the SNES version. No matter what the headline is, you always get the cop pointing at that broken window.

Honestly nothing but mad respect for your skills here... Not sure if it's just me or what but I always found the Paperboy games to be among the hardest of the "Arcade Style" games requiring a rather diverse mastery in combination of repetition... I always used to joke with an old friend of mine who loves it that it's like the fighting game equivalent to platformers...

Bruh, you stopped the Reaper from going to collect the soul of the poor bastard you killed when the car dropped after you hit it with a newspaper. That's legit!
One thing that drove me nuts, on the back of the box for the game they showed the cook sprite roasting the pig in his backyard. So it was in there at some point and they had to cut it. Sucks that so much of the stuff had to be removed, although it's hilarious watching the guy with the basketball play with himself, and only one of the dudes carrying the pane of glass :D

As I said in the original video, this is very similar to the SNES version in every way. Though the game isn't good, this play by the user is so well done. Graphically, this is basic for the legendary 16-bit console, but in NES, this looks very good for it.

What genre of video games is “Paperboy”?
@eduardorg11257 ай бұрын
Action.
@Xhamon5 сағат бұрын
I just stumbled upon your comment while doing research about video game genres. I find the answer interesting. Paperboy is actually a "scrolling shooter" like Gradius, Life Force and Xevious. The player has to shoot at targets while navigating to avoid hazards like terrain, obstacles, enemies, and projectiles. • Shooting newspapers instead of bullets is irrelevant for determining the genre. • The fact that you are shooting perpendicularly to the movement direction is also irrelevant (mostly). • Paperboy uses a rare (in video games) camera angle called a "cabinet projection". • That being said: "Action" is not a genre; it's a generic descriptor. Basically, it's anything that's not turn-based or doesn't let you take your time. I'd estimate that over 95% of games nowadays are "action" or contain action sequences. • Likewise, "arcade" is not a genre; it's a platform/device.

@@solarflare9078 Okay, I don't know why people keep saying the SNES version runs at 30fps. I've seen two videos of the SNES version that ran at 60, including NintendoComplete's own video. Even if you play the game on an Analogue Super Nt, it's at 60fps.
