In my honest opinion, I think it is an awesome idea. It reminds me of the (transformium-nanotech)deceptions from age of Extinction. My only criticism is that it should come with replacement bands in case they fail.

The transformation itself looks quite cool with it sort of flipping inside out in a pretty swift motion. The bands are quite ugly though on the car mode.

With all the hype over compliant mechanisms in the engineering world, I'm actually surprised that it took them this long to try it out for transformers. Supposedly, compliant mechanisms are more wear resistant than traditional linkages, so providing they don't cheap out too much and use a brittle material, it should be fine.

Weirdest ones I think i had as a child were the ones when the bayverse was at its peak, it was just the vehicle modes with a plastic engraving of the character transformed on the bottom with their name and insignia. Weird and maybe pointless but my parents had no money to constantly buy the normal transforming ones so these ones being cheap were a good alternative and I loved them so

I mean. It's definitely gonna break pretty quick but so do pretty much any toy in the hands of a kid. It seems perfect for playing, no complex transformations plus it's just one motion. I could see kids absolutely loving these things

TJ Omega put up a video of the gimmicks they're using with the Rise of the Beasts releases, and used the Cheetor toy for an example of the Flex Changers, in case anyone's interested. I will say, I gind the flex change intriguing, though I also have the same sentiment about much the bands might during play.

Gotta admit that’s a pretty unique design. Being able to change it by just spinning the parts. With transformers you have to physically move each piece into place. Neat toy honestly.

Looks like a great toy for transformer fans that may suffer from motor functions. I have a nephew with disabilities that struggles with transforming toys from the legacy or generations lines so he always asks me to do the transforming for him. Toys like this seems to be very accessible and appealing. I’ll have to buy him some. Thanks for the video!

I miss the days when unique gimmicks like this would be used for the basis of making a new character, instead of just making a million different versions of the same character. Like, even if the gimmick sucked, at least you would get a quirky new character out of it.

Nah I got this same Nightbird for the fun of it and it didn’t disappoint. Feels like a lot of people rly want highly posable and accurate looks so much that we forget these toys HAD gimmicks back then so it’s always fun to pick one of these up to remember the kinda weird creative side of the Hasbro Transformers team
