Came here after I found out this figure is retiring. I overlooked this one for so long because I didn't collect sauropods. After getting a few from HLG & Eofauna, I think I should add this one to the collection as well! I miss the old Papo and this is certainly one of their better ones. Thanks for the review!

Nice review my friend, Rubbermaid totes are the way to go for all my Safari, CollectA, etc figures too haha. I'm not a big Papo fan (literally only have the Gorgosaurus, Chilesaurus, and old Allosaurus) but I recognize their quality when they're done right and this is to be the case here too! The less said about that Protoceratops the better 🤣

Great review as always! I wonder if this Apatosaurus sculpt is based on the mount at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History since it’s in a similar pose. Do you think you could one day review the Papo Iguanodon? Iguanodon is one of my favorite dinosaurs and I’ve been contemplating about picking up either that one or the CollectA version.

Oh yeah it does resemble that mount!! Good eye!! Hopefully I’ll get to more older reviews soon like their Iguanodon. But imo the collecta iguanodon is fantastic. One of their bests figures from them.

Man I would love to come across an Invicta Apatosaurus, I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’ve got almost all of the dinosaurs in the set and I love the retro look of them all. You should definitely cover some more Invicta figures in the future.

Yeah I need to get off my butt and do more older figure reviews. Can’t believe I haven’t done any battat reviews!! I did review the invicta apatosaurus a couple years ago. Still my only invicta review on the channel. Need to change that.

@@DinoScreamReviews It’s amazing how the battat line still holds up to this day, especially their Carnotaurus and Euoplocephalus. Do you collect any of the original Marx figures from the 50’s? Their so ugly but charming at the same time lol

@@paleoscinkus542 yeah it’s crazy how well battat has held up of the years. Wish they would release the figures that where teased years ago. And unfortunately don’t have any of those figures. Invicta are the oldest in my collection.

Yeah, the Invicta Apatosaurus is super hard to find compared to their Diplodocus and Brachiosaurus for whatever reason. I think I've even seen more Cetiosaurus out there on ebay and the like than the Apatosaurus as well.

With all of the excitement over newer companies it's important to emphasize that there are great figures that predate them, some of which are still in production like this excellent Apatosaurus. Seems like there are more near-mint Papo and Carnegie lots for sale on eBay these days, some of which is likely due to collectors making shelf space for PNSO and other lines. Which is fine, but I hope they don't have regrets & wind up buying them back at a higher prices!

Even though we live in the golden age of dinosaur collecting, there’s still plenty of great older figures out there. Glad I never parted with a single figure in all my years collecting.

I enjoy the older toys/ figures from say the Carnegie collection, Battat, the Bullyland Museum series or even Toyway WWD a lot more actually - even if they may lack the scientific accuracy of the newer figures, they seem to just have more charisma to me. Don‘t get me wrong, PNSO makes beautiful figures but with their recent increases in prizing (all the newer brands) those figures need to be absolute bangers for me to spend the big bucks on, where as for older models I am more willing to spend a few bucks. I just recently was able to get my hands on the WWD Ophthalmosaurus that I have been hunting for a looong time and reviewed it and o boy, there are just no newer figures that can compare to a toy like that for me.
