I love frogging season. One of my preferred baits in the summer around grass. Over the years I have used a variety of rigs for the soft plastic frogs and by far the best I have used is a double swim bait hook with screw lock. I just seem to get more hookups. Matt when we get a little closer to August I would like your thoughts on bait suggestions for the St. Lawrence. Drop shots are good up there but I am thinking to change things up this year and try something different.

I had probably the best day of fishing in my life for big fish and my biggest bag on Toledo Bend catching almost 37lbs for my best 5 and I couldn't tell you how many 3 to 8lb fish I caught throwing a horny toad during the spawn. It was back when the horny toad 1st came out and I would just reel it across the pepper grass and let it drop in the holes weightless. It was more about perfect timing of so many big fish pulling up and I'm sure I could've used something else and had just as good of a day but every now and then I'd get a good blow up in the grass and it was working just fine so I kept on doing it. I keep a box of both of the baits in the boat from end of February through the fall but honestly I just use them on the back of buzzbaits these day. Great video as always keepem coming man!!!

It's the top toad for me just because it does float. I threw ribbits and bull ribbits for years. One of my favorite ways to fish on Guntersville.

Stanley as a brand is being dissolved but the same products will be rebranded under Frog Factory. GSM bought the ribbit

Stanley Ribbit vs Stanley Top Toad? You don't ever use the Stanley double toad hook? There's a weighted and unweighted version.
