I think nearly all PNG forwards are from Hostplus Cup. Perhaps NRL clubs will look to pick up few PNG forwards soon since PNG managed to overcome Fiji which has top class NRL forwards. I'm looking forward to that day. PNG has quality backs in NRL already.

Every player played well. Laybutt Russell great defence bench forwards impact. Backs great attacking runs. Hookers played nice too. I thought Horne was a good alternative to Puara. Couldn’t fault anyone. As the commentators noted. There was only 1 set that the Kumuls showed fatigue.

If panthers don't appreciate him, he better move on to another club that gives him the chance to play first grade. You don't stay young forever. Make a move while you're in your peak age.

A thrilling match,the Batis were favored to win bc half of their team consisted of NRL players w the likes of Kikau,Naiqama,Waqa Blake and others,PNG on the other hand had only a few w the majority coming from the second-tier competitions like QRL and NRL second grade rugby but that didn't stop the boys from fighting till the very last second,well done Kumuls you've made the whole nation proud and thank you lagu David Mead...RLWC here we come🇵🇬❤

Big Thanks and Congratulations to our very own David Mead. Such a young kid when he first played for PNG in the 2008 World Cup and now a great leader and role model for our future Kumuls to follow. PNG Kumuls is a totally different outfit from the day David Mead first played cause unlike 2008 PNG rugby league has had plenty of success especially from the last World Cup and also the NRL Pacific Tests. The love and passion Mead has had for the Kumuls Jersey is just second to none and it surely showed every time he played for our Country. Sad to watch him wear the Kumuls Jersey one last time but man did he and our Kumuls put on a show for everyone at the stadium and back in PNG who went crazy supporting our Kumuls till the full time siren 😂😂. Nixon Putt is an NRL material..He is rock solid and built for 80 mins backrower. MacKenzie Yei, Immanuel Waine and Delbert Isaac, put up a signature performance. Solo Wane, you're a pocket rocket. Great test match of all time. Haven't seen Kumul playing with such intensity and power, especially when playing against very experience nrl players like the batis team. Batis fullback was really a talent. He has definitely secured a place in the nrl. The aftermath fiji song"we've overcome" sung together reflected a real melenesian bondage of brotherhood. Great tough game by Fiji and PNG . Deserve d win for our brothers from PNG. We had a lot of strike power but the team work and defence of the Kumuls was to good . Hopefully we sort out the stuff going on with the silk tails and Fiji rugby league . Need a great core playing week in week out together like the hunters for png . Then sprinkle in our nrl players. Yea we got half the team from Nrl but still a little young and inexperienced at test level .Papua showed what it takes .some amazing players they have .Good luck kumuls for the World Cup and Fiji keep on building we can be successful again.
