It's been a good 2 years since I've seen this? And wow, so much transphobia and homophobia in the comments. He's a guy that likes to look pretty, that's all. Knowing a lot more about gender identity and gender expression really helps me enjoy this more than I used to. :)

Lol it's okay, it's just that most people who like one visual kei band tend to love a lot of them. And to answer your question, oshare kei bands are bands like this one that wear really colorful outfits and usually have more uplifting music. Imagine putting the flavor of bubblegum into a band lol. But usually visual kei bands have a darker tone to them, but really visual kei is a genre that is all over the place. I'd day both genres are defined by the outfits as much as the music ^^

@HotoriKyo It's a cultural aspect of Japanese society. Reminds me of a modern day kabuki theater but in modern music. Some history on this, Visual Kei was started by X-Japan (their album called Visual Kei). X-Japan's leader, Yoshiki, was inspired to create a heavy metal band after he saw a Kiss album and fell in love with their visual style and creativity. There's some great music in the VK scene.
