Oh funny about no dogs. Same on gili T? My kids want a cat, but i said no to pets bc we are traveling fam now. They are going to looove gilis. I think we r going to do a month on just gili T. Were there lots of cats there too? Did u like gili T as much as gili air for a month stay? Thks for sharing 🙏

Hey! Thank you for commenting. Glad you enjoyed the vlog! So, it's actually a very unique thing but ALL Gili islands are a no dog zone, apologies that I didn't clarify this on the vlog! I just happened to realise on Gili Air and that's because of the amount of cats we saw, it caused me to ask questions! What I will say is I didn't see half as many cats on the other Gili islands. The Gilis are SO good, you'll LOVE them! To summarise: Gili Trawangan is more of a party/lively vibe, plenty of restaurants, lots to do. Gili Meno is VERY small and undeveloped and if I went back I would just do a day trip there. Gili Air is a good mix of lovely beach side restaurants, no clubs or partying and not quite as developed as Gili Trawangan so a lot quieter. The outdoor cinemas are a lovely experience on Gili Air (I didn't see it on Gili T, but maybe they just weren't on when we went). I hope this helps! :)

Just would like to add; there are some dogs on gili (i know of atleast 2) but indeed its mostly a cat island. There are NGO's taking care of the cats and horses on the island (gili cats and gili horses) check then out, you will love it. Allso would advise you to visit Lutwala diving north of Gili T, its a small zoo there 😅 (they take care of abondoned animals, they have snakes, birds and their goat mascot Tipsy who is nameholder of their bar) Gili T does have open air cinema aswell, few on west side of island (sunset side) And atleast 1 or 2 on the southern part of the eastern side. Gili T allso offers other entertainment, much music, performances, midgetgolf etc. Something a bit lacking on the other gili's 😊 And yes, you can definatly stay there a month, ive done it before, keep in mind it is pretty small though... if you never been to Indonesia before. I would definatly advise a long gili visit, trawangan probably best bet. But i would allso keep a few days open after some weeks, to visit Nusa or lombok on a day/weekendtrip aka 2 weeks Gili T , then maby 3-4 days to Nusa and then back to Gili. Take gili T as main island to stay and take some daytrips to the other gilis with public ferry from the beach or when snorkling combine it with an island visit 😊 Nusa Penida, Lembongan and Ceningan are really awsome aswell but the snorkling and relaxed island vibe of Gili isnt similar 😊 Diving/underwaterlive on both islandgroups diffrent aswell btw. Gili's have the awsome family snorkling and diving on coralreefs where beginners and children can enjoy everything aswell. But would still advise to visit Nusa for the manta rays, they are allso beginner friendly unlike the Mola Mola😊 (water is 5c here though) Went 4x to gili now, first time weekend, but kept coming back longer each time. Going back next week aswell, but allso plan to see more of mainland Lombok this time 😊

Thank you for taking the time to put all of this, very useful and very appreciated! We didn't see any dogs at all and was told that they're banned so that's interesting that you saw a couple!! We did the manta ray Snorkelling in Nusa but unfortunately saw nothing but jellyfish haha, we were unlucky! (Check out the Nusa vlog ha, got stung a few times, rather funny looking back!) We LOVED the Gili islands, I'm jealous you stayed there for a long time, it was definitely my most favourite islands, it was phi phi but I think the Gilis have taken the top spot for sure. I thought the open air cinemas were SO CUTE! I hope to visit again one day! :)
