Don't know if you've been there lately, but the inside of the Victoria Furnace recently caved in also

You should have looked on the other side of the Indian princess tombstone! You missed the best part!

That face on the tombstone looks exactly like "Mesingw," A popular Lenape spirit known for things like healing and harmony between animals and people.

Hello Woodsman. The bird that made that unusual sounding call while you were in the cemetery was a Cooper's Hawk.

I have been to that state park so many times. I never went to the cemetery or the furnace. I always went to the ice mine, balancing rock and swinging bridge. I guess I will be going there soon.😀

Awesome video, thank you. The building site at end of video with all the concrete was the brumbaugh home and farm which was demoed in maybe 1970's could be wrong. Across the street if you keep following the man made water race that you mentioned you would have came to stone foundations and there were lots to look at. That location I said about was either the forge or sawmill as the map says the forge was right by the bridge you walked by.

Water sounds good @ 18:21. Cemetery was good. Pig iron and related items are vital.

Trough Creek is an interesting place! Be careful in that cemetery. We saw a rattlesnake there last summer!

What a shame the furnace is falling apart. That creek was really beautiful, loved the sound. The cemetery was lovely. Glad you didn’t read any more what you read bought tears to the eyes. Loved the video. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe

I was out there yesterday and did Dayhike Dave's loop...checked out the furnace and cemetery also...the 1752 date was a pretty neat find. There was also some chunks of slag glass in the gravel parking lot between the road and the furnace. I did see another foundation on the cemetery trail right where it turns uphill at the sign. It was off in the woods on the right..

WOW, would really like to know what was making that call at 14:25 in the video.

That is almost certainly a Northern Flicker.

Was just in Trough on Saturday (Balanced Rock area). Haven't been to the Furnace in many years but I don't remember it looking that bad.

And the one that said 1865 might have been civil war also

Cliff, That sound might have been a Pileated woodpecker.
@jonathanwright11919 ай бұрын
I believe that bird sound was a woodpecker. Probably a yellow bellied sapsucker .

I'm leaning heavily toward a Northern Flicker.

Actually the bird that called while Woodsman was in the cemetery was a Cooper's Hawk.

What a poor, neglected little cemetery. Sad to think that all those headstones belonged to people who had family and loved ones but now they are almost totally forgotten. Thanks for sharing this video with us. 😢

The road in the park used to be the Juniata and southern railroad bed

Great video. I can't believe I missed that cemetery when I was there. I have only 3 pictures and they're all of the creek. I do remember the ice mine. I'm glad I got to go with you. That bridge was awesome. And that tombstone very touching. I'll have to look up Scott's ODDySEEy for the video on the Indian. Stay safe as always. ❤❤❤❤

Most graves in that cemetery belong to young children.
