Yes, before the advent of the lechon houses (CnT, Rico's Lechon, etc) that we know today, Talisay lechon was the default place for your lechon fix if you lived in Metro Cebu area north of Talisay and immediate towns. But Carcar was already famous ever since and since it's too far from Cebu City, most of the Cebu City residents opted to go to Talisay as it's closer to home. Carcar lechon started to make a name to tourists only lately thanks in large part to social media who took videos of their exploits. Besides, House of Lechon owner helped Carcar lechon make its name after they parted ways with Rico, the man behind the Rico's Lechon brand. House of Lechon promotes aggressively by using the brand Carcar for their lechon.

so Ricos Lechon and House of Lechon used to have partnership ? House of lechon is more loved in cebu city, Ricos Lechon thye have branches in other places na even sa Manila.

@@fashionfgurl18 Yes. Their relationship (Rico and Pages family) soured for unknown reasons and eventually split. After the split, the Pages family opted to continue operating their first restaurant but renamed it to House of Lechon that is now known today. But they have since expanded the brand to 3 other locations: Capitol Site, Robinsons Galleria Cebu and Talisay City (Cebu). The Pages family are into diverse business mostly on food and education. They own Bright Academy (international school) and Playhouse (a kiddie nursery school). They also own the famous Thirsty Juices & Shakes, Fruitfull and a chain of restaurants such as Lantaw Native Restaurant (Filipino), Chixboy BBQ, Mismukuno (Japanese), Sushiboy (Japanese), Mooon Cafe (Mexican), Shaka (Hawaiian), Cafe Racer (themed cafe), Top of Cebu (Filipino), etc.

Rico and the Pages family (owner of The House of Lechon) used to be business partners and their first venture is the current House of Lechon (located in Acacia St. near Cebu Business Park), now wholly owned by the Pages family. House of Lechon has since grown into 4 branches all in Cebu. I have eaten once at House of Lechon and seemed their lechon was legit Carcar lechon. If you're a person who's been eating Carcar lechon for some time, you can easily tell the difference between the Carcar lechon and lechon from other places in Cebu. Carcar lechon is indeed the best when it comes to taste, crispiness of its skin and overall visual look as its skin is smooth (no blisters or irregular streaks or coloration) and more intense reddish brown in color. The Carcar lechon skin remains crispy even after 5 hours. The skin of other lechon turns rubbery or chewy even after 2 hours or less yet the flavor remains tasty.
