As a glider I can only sit back in amazement at that flight! To call it irresponsible is only to ignore the excellent way the breaking of the lines was dealt with and the fact that a very safe landing was made. You can't please all the people?!?!?!

Non flying keyboard heroes have no idea the sheer force behind tumbles, let alone having the weight of a second pilot strapped to you! I have had to create this account because of the trolls on my main account, 90% of which have never left the ground unless doing a tandem skydive for their 21st!

You're fault you don't puta 3 ring system on your harness for something like this. Seems ridiculous. Then you'd be having fun still. Didn't the Rodriguez brothers build a 3 ring system for their harnesses that's proved to be the greatest thing since sliced bread in paragliding? Yet I see no one uses it.... Seems........ dumb to me ... Maybe?!

I have watched this video many times, trying to figure out how they managed to get out of this difficult situation so well. The timing of the deployment of their reserve 'chute is what makes the difference between life and death. Their rogallo is not deployed until the airflow around them is non turbulent, as shown by the cut lines streaming straight in the airflow. Was this professionalism, or luck?...or a mixture of both? You can imagine what would have happened if their reserve chute had become entangled with the collapsed paraglider.... at least the Mediterranean is warm in summer.

@RustyCanadien10 жыл бұрын
Was all those front flips on purpose? and also what is the reason that the co-pilot doesn't have an helmet?
@JuampixDDD10 жыл бұрын
yes, it's called infinity tumbling, and it's acro paragliding, line snap happens everytime, that's why they have the reserve chutes
@RustyCanadien10 жыл бұрын
But what about the co-pilot? why is he not wearing an helmet?
@JuampixDDD10 жыл бұрын
i've actually never seen people with helmets, they only use them to use the GoPros, if you are going to have an accident from 1000 feet in the air you will die anyways with or without a helmet.. if you see another paragliding videos you will see that nobody uses helmets, when they actually use helmets is when they have gas powered paragliders.
@DocProdusser9 жыл бұрын
***** i wouldn't subscribe that. if you land with a rescue on land (mountains, forest) you'll have a big sink rate. so the chance that you hit a rock with your brain-container is there. A helmet saved me already as i was forced to do a tailwind landing. I could imagine that the co-pilot doesn't wear a helmet because he could knock out the pilot at certain maneuvers, but that's just a guess. Maybe ***** could tell us more about^^

Shouldn't he have waited a bit until the collapsed paraglider gets out of the way? To me it seemed that the reserve almost gets tangled with the lines. Luckily it only twisted a turn.
@rolloverriderpgr10 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not gravity is at work so the wind and its resistance of the pretty much useless wing as gravity is pulling them down is keeping the glider above them which in most cases of using the reserve will happen. That's why the reserve is thrown to the outside of the spin or to the side as it too will go UP next to the in the way flopping glider. Not many pilots want to cut lines then throw reserve as speed increases due to that hindrance called gravity so the faster the reserve goes out the better as they are NOT like parachutes designed to open at terminal velocity. Watch enough of these videos and you'll see the same happen in almost all of them. They sure had a lot of time to house clean on the way down to have the glider all gathered up! I'm wondering why they didn't fold the thing! LOL! Good flying and recovery guys! Bet it was still fun!

Can someone please explain to me why a paragliders life in not worth sewing a 3 ring cutaway system in their rig? Followed by a steerable reserve and a skyhook system? You still would keep the worthless reserves you're already using but in this incident, you could have chopped that mess, and been flying under a perfect canopy in 75 ft! I don't get it! Then worst case scenario, you dump that triangle reserve if needed at the end...

The skywalk joint 3 can hold 210kg for the medium sized wing Now that looks promising to not snap This one they use probably was not suited for this because they are too heavy Plus any glider can be turned upside
