I tried doing B3 tip stalls on my Omega Xalps 3 while on holiday in Tenerife, WOW, so easy compared to big ears, take less effort to pull in and pop straight out with no brake line tangles. Definitely my preferred method now!

you push the bar after the B3 pulling in ?

Hi Gregg. I see you bring your hands together like your encouraging the tips to bend in unlike big ears, is this action habit or mandatory. Great video .
@greghamerton44225 жыл бұрын
Mandatory :-) depends on the wing, you need to guide it inwards to the balance point. You can see one of them makes a flappy tip and I adjust with less pull to get it settled. There's no 'bigger b3" with this technique .. it's either in, or its not
@Uni1Lab5 жыл бұрын
clubsnapperuk : by the way, it is not mandatory to make your big ears (only A3 lines) one after the other. It can be done simultaneously. For big big ears (A3+A2 lines) it's better to do it separately ... + full accelerator (always mandatory with big big ears ).
@clubsnapperuk5 жыл бұрын
Laboratory UNI1 seems me using the word mandatory was grammatically wrong. My apologies. I meant. Was it an action that was part of the procedure.

I've been doing it on the Carrera and works really nice. Now I have the Explorer and I have to try it again properly, because I tried it once and was looking very unstable. I hope it will work also. But the Carrera is robust like a tank compared with the Explorer.

Cool! Never knew this existed. What is the general difference in sink rates between B3/C3 and big ears?
@flybubblecarlo5 жыл бұрын
It differs by wing but to get an idea see our previous video: Paraglider Control: Big Ears or C3? (Gin Carrera) kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6nLiauvish1hqc
@Electroguepard5 жыл бұрын
For me, the sink rate looks similar. But the good thing is how fast it recovers. Also, you are stressing less the fabric, you are not brushing the canopy with the lines.
@greghamerton44225 жыл бұрын
Stan it depends on the wing. It's very hard to measure.. I tried during the video but the sink rate was constantly changing. On omega xalps the c3 is certainly faster descent.
@marieavakian67065 жыл бұрын
hello Flybubble, nice video, thanks. I don't understand why you speak about C3 ? with a 4 liners, 3 liners, 2 liners we are speaking about B3 (not C3) . And A2 , A3, A4 for big ears (depends of gliger) .Perhaps i had not a good understanding of your message .cheers.jérôme

Hello Jerome! Glad you like our video - a great compliment from such a great and experienced pilot and instructor like yourself! :) Thanks for your question about what to call the lines. Normally I would agree on most wings with you but according to the official line plan of the OMEGA XALPS 3 (see the screenshot in our video @ 00:23) the lines you pull to induce the "B3/C3" descent technique (a.k.a. "tip stalls" or "bunny ears") are actually labelled "4C3" in the line plan. We call them "C3" for simplicity. I've replied to your email in some more detail. Cheers!
@flybubblecarlo5 жыл бұрын
It's normal for "2 liners" to have more sets of upper lines e.g. Gin Leopard, Ozone Zeno and Enzo 3, and OMEGA XALPS 3, which all have four sets of upper lines. The "2 liner" part is only referring to the main, lower lines.
@flybubblecarlo5 жыл бұрын
Each manufacturer labels the lines on their 2 liner wings (and all wings) differently. Advance have labelled the front main lines of the OMEGA XALPS 3 as AB, the rear lines C and CD, and the upper lines as A, B, C and D. Gin and Ozone have both labelled the front main lines of their 2 liners as "A" and the rear main lines as "B", however they have each labelled the upper lines differently. Gin have labelled the front upper lines on the Leopard with numbers, and the rear upper lines with "B" and "C". Ozone have labelled the upper lines on the Zeno and Enzo 3 with "Aa", "Ab", "B" and "C". Each has their reasons for how they chose to label their line plan, I suppose!

There's a reason Greg asks people to try this on the ground first... Also don't try new manouvres without lots of height.

NEver heard about thi technique. Do you prefer this instead of big ears? (BTW Do you distinct between "ears" and "Big ears"?
@greghamerton44225 жыл бұрын
Only on some wings I prefer it, like advance sigma10, most niviuks... and yes, I should say Ears for one line and Big Ears for two, but then it's not the same for each wing. Some wings 1 line produces Big Ears
