@@damianogryf I disagree with you on a mathematical basis. If there are two positions the carabiner can be in and one of them can snag a string, it is better to put a shield over it so that no matter what position it is in in the case of an error it can't snag the string and kill you dead. I've been around 65 years because I'm the stupidest person that ever built anything crazy the stupidest person that ever designed anything crazy and I'm the stupidest person that ever used any of these things. If I can change something now and forever eliminate the possibility of an honest error killing me dead I have to do that being stupid and all. You are right and you have proven you are right because you did it the right way and now you're telling everybody your way is the best way and I agree with you. So far. We are just lucky that this person came back to tell us what what happened. I hope I'm never sleeping and have your ghost come and tell me that you should have listened to me and set it up so that you couldn't make a mistake and be a ghost.
