Not much thermal insulation here. When I built my muffle furnace, I used two layers of high insulation bricks and a good layer of thermal blanket around the bricks.

Would be nice if there were subtitles for the narration.

No breathing protection? These guys sanding on these bricks are going to regret it later in life. Believe me I know.

nice video... Paragon has been the premier name for Heat treat ovens in my part of the world for a long time. Trying to build my own and for special purpose... so coming to respect the tremendous knowledge and adventure they and others must have had in developing that technology. Jay Holden ... I'm not sure what experience you've had, or with what particular form of fire brick you worked, and got hurt by... but odds are their firebrick is only clay, perlite, lime, and a binder.... the dust is likely to be the same dust you breath every time you step outside. A Dust mask would still be good .. but they are in a very large open space with some kind of ventalation... you can tell because the dust is not hanging in the air... you can look at videos of rock carving factories and other similars... where it is a constant heavy cloud of dust.... and no dustmasks... which really is a bit scary. Paragon is a cool name for a furnace too... thanks again for the video they are reasonably priced considering the work and tech knowledge that goes into them... good luck out there.

@Jim burns: Your analogy comparing walking outside to working in the factory is disingenuous and/or ignorant. The handsanding, pounding with the mallet, walking across the floor, etc. will most certainly lead to those very materials trapped in the lungs. As pointed out and dismissed by you, ppe should be worn at all times. At the end of the shift the workers should have themselves and clothing blown off and vacuumed before leaving the factory. Your dismissal of the long term effects of breathing in these products leads me to believe that you are either an ignorant putz, lacking in empathy or both.

@@really2345 nothing disengenuous about what I said at all bonzai....the leadership in that factory went to great lengths to minimize dust to safe levels...and you are cheaply stealing their honor and hamstringing us all to worship the power of your cheap theft. Look at videos of the opposite kind of leadership from China or other nation's before gouging out your children's eyes so you could feel like you deserved a place at the leadership table without earning it.

@@jimburnsjr. You continue to be both disingenuous and ignorant. We were discussing Paragon's lack of protections for their employees. What does that have to do with practices in other countries, specifically China? Paragon is not protecting their workers' long term health. You don't care as long as you can purchase their product. I have worked in sweatshops in Asia, including China making ceramics and it was also lacking in personal protections. That's just terrible. That, however, does not in any way mitigate the responsibilities that Paragon has for its employees. Please keep your ignorant comments to yourself in the future. See how I sneaked the use of the pejorative into the comment?

Wow I really appreciate you guys showing us this video I will never buy a paragon kiln I haven't seen one person wear a respirator while sanding and just billowing clouds of silica coming off of those brick. Don't you care about your employees health? There is no treatment or cure for silicosis what in the hell is your exact problem?

Clown Whisper I don’t work at Paragon anymore. The factory has a rigorous health program in place complete with masks and air filters.

What amount of watt element required for 1500 temperature in electric furnance.
@arnoldhoward20764 жыл бұрын
The answer is a matter of experimentation. The wattage depends on wall thickness, the size of the kiln, type of insulation, etc.
