Parallel processing maybe the key for electronic drums/plugins to get that acoustic drum "Oomph"

They're samples OF acoustic drums. I doubt them being samples/going through a computer factor into why they don't sound like they have enough "oomph" to them. Any "oomph" they're missing is most likely just because they were recorded already lacking said "oomph". You just like more impact to your drum sounds. I don't think it's that deep.

Yeah, do the multi out and add it in your daw.

The one that sounds better. Sometimes you want the unaffected sound to give that extra attack and sometimes you just want to reinforce with the processed sound to not add anything that’s not there.
