I ought to have mentioned one more thing. 'I looked in my bag, my coat and my bed' sounds natural, thanks to parallel pronouns. 'I looked in the bag, the coat and the bed' sounds good too, thanks to parallel articles.

Is it possible to say: "I looked under the bed, and in my bag and my coat" or "I looked under the bed, in bag and my coat"?
@arifdwipurnomo96668 жыл бұрын
probably it would be like this : I looked under the bed, in my bag and in my coat. Does it make sense MrSkypelessons?

What about this: "This would encourage investment and improve communication and could increase profit. That way "encourage investment" and "improve communication" are modified by "would" and "could increase profit" is a separate clause, which is modified by the subject and not the "would" Modal. ?

Is the following: "She likes to look but not to listen" equivalents with A OR B: A:"She likes to look, but she likes not to listen" or B:"She likes to look, but she does not likes to listen"

Thank you teacher, I hope you do well. May you help me out with this I have come across a sentence in Cambridge book: "From 20q [quadrillion] and 15q respectively in 1980, gas showed an initial fall and coal a gradual increase, with the two fuels equal between 1985 and 1990." I don't know what is the grammatical point constituting the phrase "and coal a gradual increase"; it seems to me that there is parallelism and the writer omitted the verbs to avoid repetition. May you clarify it since i cannot find the answer myself. (I also think that we could use a gapping comma after coal)

Oh, this actually has a name called parallelism? I heard this from my teacher and he called it parallel structure. And when I try to read more and more English story books, I find this type of writing style is so natural and common.

Thanks a lot for your great videos which helped me a lot. I have a few doubts regarding the topic above.. 1) what is the difference between " She likes jogging,reading, and going to gym on sundays" and " she likes jogging,reading,and going to gym, on sundays". what difference does the comma make? 2) He is The Prime Minister and The Finance Minister (or) He is Prime Minister and Finance Minister (or) He is both The Prime Minister and Finance Minister. which of these is right...pls help me with these..thanks a lot once again.

Your videos are really useful, helpful, and amazing. According to the rule of preposition in correlative conjunctions, are these correct as well? 1) "Air pollution may come either from the ocean as natural contaminants given off by sea life or from the internal combustion engines of automobile." 2) "Air pollution may come from either the ocean as natural contaminants given off by sea life or the internal combustion engines of automobile."
