In this tutorial, we will model a simple Islamic geometric pattern by defining Concentric Circles and model the baselines. First, we will divide those circles and define the pattern of connection between the division points. Finally, by changing the circle's radiuses, we can model a simple parametric Islamic geometric pattern in Grasshopper. If you are new to our channel you can watch these tutorials👇 to know what is Grasshopper❓ kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH6papqJiLmCqtU To get started with Grasshopper👨🎓 kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2eZk4aEabZ5i6c Download the Example file💾 bit.ly/2H1j65F Enroll in our course and learn more!👓 bit.ly/paracourse Check out our website for more free tutorials🎁 bit.ly/parametrichouse 👉 Subscribe to our KZbin channel 📹 kzbin.info 🗣 And hit that bell notification button! ⏰ 👍 Like our videos to hear from us more often! 😊 Comment below to support us! 📝

Thank you very much for this video. Where can I find the video to make this simple islamic pattern into a bigger parametric pattern for example used in tiles?

Thank you so much for tutorial! You have mentioned that there is another way to do it? Do you have any tutorial where you have applied the other method please? Thank you!

there are strict geometric proportional relationships in islamic patterms, you can't just change the sizes like that.
@ParametricHouse5 жыл бұрын
True! But the sole purpose of this channel is Parametric design so that's why we remodel things by defining changing parameters
@axeman26385 жыл бұрын
@@ParametricHouse sure, perhaps you could look at doing them geometrically correctly using grasshopper as well at some time. I have been studying the geometry in rhino but have yet to move to doing it parametrically in grasshopper. what i am curious about is the weaving of the border, the proportional relation between the line width and the overall pattern and how to break the lines up into the smallest number of similar shapes that then create the under over weave. if you have any knowledge of the subject i'd be grateful of you would share it, i've not found much to guide me so far. there's a fair bit of material about drawing the lines but very little about how to proceed from there.
