As usual, great tutorial. I've seen this one recently. It literally solves the problem of THICKNESS and extrusion accurately. Things like scales, lofts, extrudes and face triangulations comes from this. The ISLAMIC patterns is one of the fundamental themes of parametric architecture. Well, this IS the foundation of algorithmic design established by the Arabs. We have access to the library of their culture making it available to us. Arabs established the planimetric symmetric groups in their treatises. What we are seeing here is the finest history of the past and the future. Parametric architecture establishes the foundations of construction for Islamic pattern, the tessellation, the modular origami, projection of projections over any surface, the discretization of a surface on planar elements with a definite pattern, the concept of gradient attractors for scaling and rotations. For everyone who has not seen Arab architecture, pattern design and the Quran artistry, please take few minutes and see such reference. Zaha Hadid is one of them who started such revision over Arab architecture providing degrees of free form.
