YEAH, Absolutely fantastic to see you back mate. We all missed you up here in Scotland. And although everyone loves your honest videos, that show the REAL paramotoring flights, with bumps, accidents, failed launches etc., etc., Your health is far more important buddy. You Vlog when you bloody feel like it mate, coz you wont enjoy it, if it's taking over your life like a job with nothing but pressure. Great to see you back up in the sky again, take care mate, & keep smiling.

About bloody time! 😂 Made my night when I see this come up!! 👍🏻 Get exactly what you was saying about talking to someone when you don’t know what to really talk about or you don’t want to talk anyone but don’t even know why? I’ve been doing chemo and radio treatment since jan and Ive had many an hour sitting in hospital , and want to let you know your vids are great escapism for me and and great help at passing the hours. Sometimes talking to someone you don’t know is a lot easier than a loved one , and it does help , you can always reach out to some of us if needed mate , we are all here because we like watching what you do and your honesty about it all. Keep the vids coming mate we all love em but don’t pressure yourself to doing it every week, do it because you enjoy it not because you feel you have too , have a good weekend 👍🏻

Sorry to hear that! Paramotoring isn't overly physical though, only the takeoff involves running.. is it a definite no for you?
@myworldview80883 жыл бұрын
@@PARANOOB I'm not sure, it doesn't take much to make me breathless. I understand what you are saying about the take off but I think I am more afraid of not being able to cope with the training.
@PARANOOB3 жыл бұрын
Fair one. Only one way to find out though.. don't let 'afraid of' tell you where your limits are. If you fancy it, find an understanding trainer and work out where your limit actually is. Training is more physical than flying. If you could take that slow, you could win. Flying a paramotor is neither difficult nor athletic.. (see the many fat pilots.. lol).

Thanks so much for (besides the vid) sharing about these worries you experienced, it shows strength. On my side, on a similar note, out of nowhere after a shitty phone call and week of worrying and uncertainty a couple of moths ago, got this stress anxiety thing which affected my body DESPTITE that my mental “courage” was the usual brave. Like as if the body had drunk 10 coffees and needed more air. I learned that for this (or/and probably what you mention) is very soothing to cultivate inner silence, even when doing activity to give it a silent calm attention. I find that when I think stressful thoughts the body thinks it’s all happening for real and tenses. It is like the brakes for stress of the body have weakened. So I started to do lots of purposeful cultivation of calm, lots of rest, slow relaxed breaths and letting survival thoughts float away without me feeding them. So I rebuilt my parasympathetic stress brake system but (lol) last week did a flight (small plane, local flight south of france here) and the whole pulling pushing plane in out of hangar, washing it, refueling etc (more than flight itself) ré triggered this stress anguish thing. Moral of the story and note to self: don’t rush when feeling revitalized, let it stabilise. What I learn in this process: Eckhart Tolle videos for stopping the parasite part of our minds and inner silence are priceless; not to imagine that I “should” fulfill some stinking “social order” expectations about my current “level”, that’s what it is, we need to recover so we take it easy, fuck comparing with others, fuck social orde, etc. To be in the present moment without ruminating, relaxed. To not get disappointed when fail, just restart again, it’s normal to regress sometimes…etc etc, I hope this writ amazes you and sending you lots of cheers! Ps I thought of starting thins with “I was really touched by…” but I thought you’d say “that’s what she said” 😀

Great to see you getting back to it, and a wise choice not to fly if your not in the mood for it. Many do, and unfortunately can pay the price. Fly when your mind, body and soul aren't screaming at you not too! Mental health can be a debilitating illness, and its something so many suffer with at some point. Speaking about how your feeling is probably one of the best ways to feel better.

Hi Paul, Sorry to hear you've been through a rough patch, I've been having a bit of a naff time too over the last few months and the last year was a difficult one for the paramotoring, so much so I packed up. A few trips and falls and a slight issue with my hip and ankle and left eye meant I didn't feel safe and changing the motor perhaps didn't help as it had a different harness setup and well I guess I just didn't get on with it. It was heavier than my old unit and what a bloody stress it was setting up and taking off... I do miss the flying very much and if I do come back the only way I would return is with a PeaBee or something similar. Take off's seem so much easier on the Pea Bee or is it that Giles makes it look easy! I have an operation on my eye later this week so lets hope that sorts that out, it's constantly aching and the eyelid is swollen but the hospital have said they can't be sure if the op will be a success. I shall keep my fingers crossed... Sandy
@PARANOOB3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandy, hope the eye stuff all goes okay! Did you say it was a gold weight? Do they let you keep it?! I saw you'd quit, which was sad, but I thought 'there's a man with many great hobbies', so no worries.. looking forward to your flexwing videos! 😀 Take care, and give my love to Mandy and the dogs.
