Wow, that's great quality for 1997, especially for home videos. I like watching videos like this without music playing.

I went almost every year since 1980. Went a couple times in the 70's also. Went on Beast the first month it came out. Wish I still had the button. I remember my dad getting me on the racer(I think that's what it was called) when I had to stretch to be tall enough. Now I'm pushing 50 and moved to Florida where I now work at universal studios. I guess it's still in my blood. Great times. Great memories.

I remember that year as a little kid! Top Gun was the biggest coaster I went on. Paramount added a few good rides like Flight of Fear and Tomb Raider (which is gone now). Cedar Fair has put in rides, they just dont care much for theming like Paramount did.

I miss these days. Family use to go every year. I remember this year because of the star trek people. Scared the crap outta me lol I miss the theming from paramount and the awesome music that played all through the park.

I have to say the greatest thing about Kings Island that is almost all video and footage taken by guests will always involve shots from the Eiffel Tower that capture what the park was truly like on the day visited. That old Beastie sign. The way the old "Action Zone" and area where King Cobra used to be. The original fountain... King's Island is still my home park. Go multiple times a year because I'm less than 2 hours from Cincy. I was 16 in 1997 so I fondly remember these days.

I cannot believe that was a Tumble Bug style flat ride they had back then. I love the old classics (very rare now). I only visited the park once in 2005 with some American enthusiasts called RideWorld (I’m from England). Very happy memories of its final Paramount year I believe when the former Italian Job Coaster was launched. I would love to have ridden the old Phantom Theatre (don’t seem to be very many ghost train type dark rides in the US for some reason). I was also fortunate (or maybe mis-fortunate) to have got a ride on the now defunct Son of Beast. I must say, normally a woodie lover, this must’ve been the most shaken train I’ve ever ridden, even from the off it didn’t seem to find its tracking, jumping from side to side. I came off with quite a headache, but rather stupidly took a second ride as thought I must’ve selected a bad seat on my inaugural trip. I’m very pleased to have ridden this ahead of its time looping woodie, but sadly my second chance ride was no less painful. (The loop was certainly its smoothest element as many used to comment).

I was initially HIGHLY skeptical when Paramount bought the park, but the PKI days were, in my eyes, the golden age of Kings Island. I have so many magical memories of that time. My only real complaint was the lack of any "Star Trek" ride, which would have been incredible. Once Cedar Fair bought the park, I no longer felt the mystique and wonder.

Man, look how beautiful the original Antique Cars area was before Paramount made their first idiotic move and removed them for the Stunt Track coaster. Stupid ride should have been added to the area where Action Zone is now and not ruin the flow and landscaping behind the tower.
