Paramount TV began life as Desilu Productions, an independent studio formed by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The company was taken over by Paramount Pictures in the late 60s.

(DuMont Manufactured Televisions & Radios) In 1938.Paramount Became A Minority Owner Of DuMont Television Network & Then, Paramount Created Their Own Network In 1948. Their (Paramount) Product Unit Was Called "Television Productions, Inc.(KTLA) In Los Angeles & WBBM-TV In Chicago. In 1955-56 Paramount Went Under The Name "Telemount"(Television & Paramount) With Mutual Broadcasting For Syndication After DuMont Failed. In 1966, Gulf + Western Purchased Paramount Because Paramount Was Going Bankrupt & Was Closing Down Many Of Its Animation Divisions, Sold Off Its Many Television Stations & Movie Theatres. Gulf + Western Saved Paramount. John T. Reynolds Left CBS To Become President Of Paramount Television In 1966 & Many Of Paramount's Motion Pictures Made It To The Small Screen. In 1967 , It Was Gulf + Western Industries Who Bought Desilu Productions(Paramount's Parent Company @ The Time). Gulf + Western Merged Desilu Productions Into Paramount, Who Was Literally Next Door Neighbors On The Same Studio Lot (Alongside With What Used To Be RKO Pictures, Inc.) The End Result Being That Paramount Television Taking Up The Production Of Desilu Programs At The End Of 1967. All 3 Studio Lots That Desilu Owned (Including The Original RKO Pictures Lot) Was Sold To The Head Of Gulf + Western, Charles Bluhdorn. The Justice Department Made Mr. Bluhdorn Sell The Culver City Studio Lots For Fear That It Would Become A "Monopoly" 🙄. I'm Thinking That Sony Owns The Culver City Location, Today.
