A brand new original song centred around the moth pimp himself, Valentino, featuring originally created backing music, sound design, voice acted story and artwork.
Every good villain needs a song in the Hellaverse and Valentino is no exception. With the potential for this character to be one of the primary antagonistic forces in the show, I wanted to construct a song that would show the things he can tempt his workers and clients with while also making it clear that he expects obedience and respect in exchange. Framing it around upstaging his best star, just to prove a point that he is the one people want to associate with, seemed just so 'Val'.
To that end, in the wake of my last two original songs being more than a little emotionally charged, I wanted to make something fun, energetic and dripping with Val's ego. The result is something that is heavily rooted in my specialty of electronic music production, coupled with sound design to really give a sense of where Val is performing.
A lot of Val's vocals were recorded multiple times and processed to make it sound like he's speaking in multiple directions at once, truly getting under people's skin to get them "hooked". And the featured vocalist who he forces to take part in his little upstaging act should be no stranger to people who have listened to Val perform music on this channel before...
And lastly, all of my thanks and praise to the wonderful MaaTheDino for helping me with the artwork for this project. As someone who draws Val so perfectly in multiple other works, the art they provided really captured the setting, the ego and sense of threat that I was intending when making it. Valentino is a perfect metaphor for addiction. People become addicted not over the thing itself, but the solution it provides, I.e. distraction from personal problems. If you attempt to get away from addiction, and assert control over it, it’ll hurt you. It’s funny that he’s a moth, as moths are characterized by going into electric shock traps because they cannot control their impulse to be with light, correlating with how addicts pursue their addiction regardless of the self destructive nature of it. Only by solving the problems that you’re trying to distract yourself from will get you away from addiction, as is the purpose of the hotel. I wonder what led Angel Dust to become an addict, and I wonder how Hazbin Hotel will provide the solution to it.

Now that was one helluva BOP! This song screams, practically *oozes* Valentino. His influence, his personality, his attitude towards those below him. Even Angel, his best star. Val is the KING of his domain and he will "flaunt" it to make that clear. The beat was catchy, had me moving my body to the rhythm throughout. Val's lyrics are full of pride and lust, always knowing just what to say to get what he wants, to get people "hooked". Angel's lyrics, he "know this song". I'm willing to bet his part is the words Val spoke to him, to lure him in to making a deal and sell his soul. He's done this song and dance, and when he tries to make his position worth while, Val comes in and squanders it. Angel might be the best, but Val is the one who made him the best, and he will always be there to remind Angel of that. Fantastic as always, DJ!

Well, the shows California doesn't sound or act like this. Which, I understand because he isn't the main antagonist for season 1. But when he hits Angel-Dust and reminds him of the contact, he definitely gave off the vibe of PDJ's Valentino. Like I said, this voice can come from an accident that damages his vocal chords, or be his full demon/approaching full demon from voice.
