Not true on the sb-7. You do pick up evp with the sb-7. I've done it many times even finding obituaries within days of their deaths. It is not paradolia in each case. I understand sometimes it sounds like names or words that are just radio noise, but in some cases it is totally real.

You were sold a bill of goods my man. These devices were really made to fill in dead air on reality TV shows, and also gives the tv hosts something to react to, making it more entertaining to watch. But that's all it is, entertainment. There is absolutely NO reason for anyone to believe spirits have somehow gotten radio engineering degrees and can communicate through those devices. Even if they can, there's NO way to falsify and prove they do. All you can do is offer more claims, which aren't proof of anything if you haven't at least made an effort to falsify your own claims.

What blowed my mind about a sb7 spirit box was we investigated a house 3 separate times first time we caught the name mark was the second night super prominent strong/dominating sounding we investigated this house 3 separate nights each night a week apart the 3rd night he comes through again with a girl spirit asking for help we actually have this first episode on KZbin look up 4d paranormal house of the unknown a year and a half later we take a friend to check the house out soon as the the sb7 was turned on and set down my friend asked a question related to is anyone here or something along those lines same voice saying mark came through now this blowed my mind we do have this on film also ! So how can I say this device is fake or in a sense throwing false negatives? That was beyond compelling

Same. I had a whole intelligent conversation with a dead hooker at a haunted cigar bar in Milwaukee. Answered my questions intelligently and blew my mind. I asked if they knew my wife's name and INSTANTLY loudly and Cleary said "AMBER" with authority. Also got a blood curdling scream that we didn't hear with our own ears only when we played a video some freinds pointed it out. I posted it on KZbin. Anyways this guy is doing his clients a disservice by being so closed minded. Go look at his page... I will say it's a brilliantly put together website he has but he's been investigating since 2004 and hasn't documented any evidence and tells all his clients their house isn't haunted smh.

I started out collecting a bunch of these tools when l first started out But when it comes down to actual investigations , the only thing that I bring along...is my cell phone camera my own sensitivity to coldspots/phantom smells and also an sbox radio. The SBox radio has a lot more audio quality to it than that of the psb-7 radio

The reason these guys get so much hate is because they actually employ SCIENCE to ghost hunting. Most ghost hunters already fully believe in ghosts, they'll hear one noise in the night and declare it 100% proof of the supernatural. These guys actually investigate the sound, they try and rule out other factors, they try and recreate paranormal events to see if they have natural explanations. Unfortunately, by doing this, it tends to annoy a lot of the more hardcore believers because they prefer fairy tales to reality.

Correct on the recorders. Mine are all .wav Sb7 or sb11 are not good by themselves nor do they prove anything by themselves. I do know and have had clear , revelant responses using the devices. K2s.. your also correct about. Key is to try to replicate your findings. 1st rule of thumb using a k2 is all put their cell phones on airplane mode or leave them in a vehicle, you turn off all the power you can turn off and you sweep your area. Identifying obvious sources of emf. Fun fact: the new electrical meters on the outside of houses will ping these devices on a interval. At a certain point too much emf contamination means either switching to a shielded meter or just not bothering with using devices at all. Its really depending on the situation. However with a proper environment , Getting intelligent responses on demand multiple times in a row using a k2 is not random contamination. It's either fraud or something worth being logged. Bottom line here; its up to professionalism and knowledge of the investigator to make judgment calls on devices to use vs not to use based on the environment and the pre testing of that environment. No one device proves anything , it's the collection of devices used and data gathered that build a picture for one to extrapolate if something is in their own opinion "paranormal". It's like this: even with the best evps, with a emf spike at the same moment the evp occurred, with a sb11 in another area away from digital recorders range; saying the exact same thing thats on evp at the same time as the spike in emf , even with a ovilus device reading and spitting out the same exact word as the other devices logged at exact moment and even having all that in response to a direct question and having all that on video... that still doesn't "prove" anything!! However in such a case, if it were me in this hypothetical gold mine of data that hardly ever occurs like this ; it would be " my opinion " based on the data recorded that this particular place based on this particular set of data recorded at this time that seems to all correlate eachother .. that the place in question has some sort of paranormal occurrences happening. This would be my opinion. In the end, it's all we can say. We can't prove a ghost. We can't prove a haunting. We can only prove with some level assurance what isn't causing these things we are in any location for in the first place. Hell; You can have 100% legit 8k video of ghost right in front you , conducting a interview, this doesn't prove anything to anyone else. Certainly not to science.

Nice vid and I respect your opinions but we are just starting out trying to communicate with the afterlife through technology and research. Honest ghost hunters are trusting techs and giving them the chance to try helping us with our search for answers from beyond.. "Garbage" tools or not, they are only trying to create actual working tools for paranormal investigations. I'm happy with the scientist's attempts. This is only the beginning.

Spirit Talk Apps seem to work best if you avoid cold rading. EMF to voice is a real thing, but one thing to avoid is cold reading, as in leading the question like a tv medium. We give an example of this in our two recent vidos.

The sb7 is absolutely legit if your truly in the presence of a spirit. I've had intelligent convos and even called out by my name. This guy's a joke. On and a quick piece of advice......I use a Faraday pouch to eliminate any contamination by putting the sb7 inside of it. Try it out

Thank you for showing how the "spirit box" is pareidolia garbage. The only way the Spirit Box could actually work is if it was being manipulated in a preternatural way, which is essentially inhuman or demonic spirits. Even then, it's best not to use for obvious reasons. KII: I've used the KII and it results in the exact thing you guys are talking about. False positives came our way because of a cellphone. Audio: I would add that some recorders that can record in WAV (PCM mode) need to manually switched to that mode away from MP3 - even between battery changes. I accidentally had a recorder in MP3 mode because we changed batteries and forgot to switch it back to WAV. Other useless equipment: Ovilus

One of my investigators forgot to leave their cell phone in the car and had it his pocket. We weren’t aware of this at the time until reviewing the footage. So, it’s not a matter of being “stupid,” - it was just an accident that I quickly discovered. Hence, you’re criticizing me without knowing the entire story is rash, imprudent, and idiotic. If the PS7 is garbage then explain or debink the responses using the "Estes" method where someone using noise canceling headphones is designated to call out what they hear in the headphones yet do not hear or know the questions being asked of the other investigators. Also explain how I've been cussed out countless times with profanity which is prohibited to broadcast by the FCC. Maybe your explanation is that I'm lucky enough to catch the rare times when stations decide to violate the FCC rules and use profanity at the coincidental times I've used the spirit box. I respect your skepticism but there is no need to play the role of actual paranormal researchers calling everthing BS. Ok so these guys are 100% ametures and I will explain why based off experience with the sb7. So like you said the radio frequencies change every .25 seconds. Mind you I place the sb7 in a Faraday bag to limit contamination. If the frequencies change every .25 seconds how is it that ive had the same vocal tone run over a couple dozen frequencies completing a whole sentence (all while directly & intelligently answering my questions). Please explain that Mr scientist. At one point i literally asked "whats my fiances name" and the spirit instantaneously "AMBER" with authority. In order for the spirit box to work you have to be in the presence of an actual spirit. You cant just sit at home asking a bunch of questions and conveniently piecing together a word here n there to fit your narrative. The 1st time I used one was at SHAKERS HAUNTED CIGAR BAR IN MILWAUKEE where we did an overnight on the former brothels 3rd floor where a hooker was murdered. Both my wife and I were blown away with the outcome. We even caught a disembodied blood curdling scream wich we feel was the prostitutes dying scream. We posted a short video and somebody pointed out the scream wich we didnt hear with our own ears and we were alone. Type in skyler schaut on YT and the short video will pop up.

I respectfully disagree about the Spirit Box. I have used it many times on investigations and had success. I was also a skeptic initially with this equipment. Until, by using the Estes method, information was gathered that no one knew about for the exception of the historian that wrote the book on the location. Which by the way, this was a totally blind investigation. No preconceived notions or background. So to say the spirit box is useless is just wrong. Just because you don't use it or don't believe in the results, doesn't mean it's not a tool for everyone.

Exactly. If they don't understand or have the know how in regards to using a spirit box they should have just said it. Some people are so smart for their own good. To mislead potential investigators is such bs. No wonder they've been investigating since 2004 and have VERY LITTLE if any evidence. When it directly and intelligently answers A SERIES of questions and states your name clear as day it's not a coincidence. Also I know many people detune their sp7 by removing the antenna to get rid of all the radio chatter so you don't have all that contamination but I've found that I've gotten the same results using a Faraday bag to place it in. These guys seem like they are intelligent enough to know they are talking out their asses. So I don't think they are that close minded and ignorant to call such an amazing device a piece of garbage. What I’ve wondered, and it may be more staticky/garbled/Lodi or whatever depending on what you’re using (this can be resolved with higher end gear and microphones) is using analog equipment to listen for “paranormal noises.” Also a lot of people must be hearing things they don’t want to hear looking at the amount of downvoted lol.

Let me start by saying the SB-7 is one of the best in my opinion tried and tested, I have gotten sentences and repeated names one I came up to the grave and it was the name said while turning through stations very fast; by doing this you will not get a word or sentence with the same voice. I have had spirits say"Help me", names too and much more. Spirits speak most of the time as a fast rate so some of the time I slow down audio video and you can hear them fairly clear answering my questions. I call this the "Slow Audio capture" discovered this technique during the lock down. If you are in tuned you can pick up words easier. I guess it does not matter how much proof you have if you are not opened minded then you will never accept that some of these equipment works. EMF meter has to be checked with wiring etc in building once you have established that then you can test the EMF meter, not everything is paranormal you must debunk first.

But I'm still researching and trying to find out whether a ghost box is suitable for ghost hunting or not. I find KII meters interesting in combination with CCTV cameras. Okay so do you think Flux 2 Response is a good device for Supernatural hunting you can play Yes or No games with it and it picks up entities within its environment moving to it i'd rather play with a pendulum though which is less expensive. I bought one to experiment around with it to see if I can get repetitive answers or not. Also yes quality doesn't mean expense in other words sometimes cheaper might be better I don't even waste money on jewelry rather than electronics half the time and things I physically need. Supernatural simply means by the name even Science does have some slight Supernatural in it when stuff starts levitating and suspending in space is what could be counted as evidence of the Supernatural lol there are other ways to prove Paranormal exists without EVP or EMF and i've been doing it for a while.

Saw a Flux 2 used at a recent investigation by a friend of mine. We didn’t get any responses while using it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. As anyone who has done investigations knows, you don’t always get ‘hits’ or evidence every time you try. I was impressed enough with it that I’ve ordered one. Should arrive in a few days and I’ll take it on an investigation next month. As far as a pendulum goes, I would recommend getting a stand for it, (they actually make them…or you can use a necklace holder that allows for hanging a necklace on a hook of sorts and letting it hang free), or don’t use one on an investigation. Pendulums are not reliable when held in the hand, as they are subject to ideomotor response, (IMR). And no matter how much you think you can avoid the IMR effect, I assure you that you cannot; which renders hand-held pendulum use for anything, absolutely, unequivocally unreliable.

Hi from the UK. I like the sensible chat. I like your article on ' useless equipment'. I could not agree more with your findings. My equipment comprises of professional audio recording and photographic equipment, that's all you need. I bought a SB11 Spirit Box, what a load of rubbish. A Spirit Box is just a broken radio, as for an EMF meters, I have the Alpha Labs Tri-Field, mmmmm. It has not been proven that 'Ghosts' give off EMF. A compass will do the job. Like I said, you guys are good! Looking at all the different paranormal channels, it seems that you must have a footlocker full of every doodad available (which many of the channels sell, go figure). You also need the patience of a saint to go hang with some half-assed group who hears EVPs coming out of toasters, screams everytime a spider web touches them, has no problem breaking into sites, tosses pebbles or books at other members and calls out entities for a gang rumble. What I'm looking for is a way to get my feet wet, effectively do an investigation, and learn the ABCs. I'm fairly sceptical (I was a cop for 30 years). I've visited a few local groups and those I wouldn't have arrested for trespassing and burglary I would have transported for a mental health evaluation. Needless to say, I don't work or play well with others and would prefer to quietly learn and work by myself. Not the ideal situation but I'm guessing there are others it there like me. We are interested, able to learn, and resource challenged (very little discretionary money). I hope this soapbox comment gives you some ideas. I look forward to your coming projects.

Ive looked over your website because im from your area and noticed you never get any evidence wich misleads your clients into thinking their home isnt haunted afterall. I had a whole intelligent conversation with 2 spirits when I stayed the night at shakers cigar bar. When they are literally answering your questions calling you by name ITS NO COINCIDENCE. All of the apps drive me batty, but the one that is being touted as legit, (but it’s not), is Neceophonic. It has words and partial words in a database. It has a randomized and runs on a loop. It throws words or partial words out - sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards - and had reverb and echo to make it sound spookier. I can’t believe people pay for that thing. And I was recently on an investigation with someone I respect and trust and he pulled that thing out. No, man. Just no. Such a bunch of nonsense. If that entertains you, I guess that’s fine…but know that it’s executing a program, is nonsense and incapable of being used as a legitimate investigation tool and then don’t use it during an actual investigation. Ever.

@@andrewwhite6261 Since I wrote that, I was investigating with some friends in an empty property built in 1859. We were getting consistent answers with other equipment and one of my team wanted to use the app. Okay, fine; but using a technique that was suggested to me by a well-known investigator, (who uses the app and knows full well my aversions to it, which is why he offered this suggestion), we came up with a two-syllable password that would be highly unlikely to be in the app database and unlikely to be broadcast. We established the password before opening the app, (to avoid the possibility of the word being picked up via the microphone, even though the app doent have access to and isn’t supposed to use the microphone), and I asked for the password. Two of the four of us heard it. One person heard two syllables, but couldn’t confirm what the word was. I did not hear anything sounding like the password. I stated that I hadn’t heard the password, but others thought they heard it and could they repeat it, please. A woman’s voice gave the password and we all heard it. I thanked them, then asked, “Can you see us?” There was an immediate green light on the motion detecting device several feet away, (one of two options on the device - green or red - and we had established that motion in one side, lighting up the green light, was for ‘yes’ and motion on the other side, lighting up red, was for ‘no’); and then about two or three seconds after the device lit up for ‘yes’, what sounded like the same female voice that gave the password, said through the Necrophonic app, “I see something.” We got plenty of activy on our other equipment, but never another peep from the app all night long. But given that we got the password and then an immediate, direct, multi-word response to a specific question, (which was also consistent in results and timing on the other piece of equipment), I had to walk back my disdain and mistrust of that app. One other time since then, just about a couple of months ago, I took an antique key out of my pocket in the dark - no one else saw the object - and I asked what was in my hand. We did not get the requested password, but we did get, “key”. Now, I still use the app sparingly, with other equipment so results can be identified as consistent, and with a healthy dose of skepticism. And if I do not get the password, I will dismiss anything received as audio pareidolia, (which is what I had to do with the “key” incident). But used with a password, a rational mind, under proper test conditions, and in conjunction with other methods/equipment; I will concede that it can be a useful tool. So, yes, I was wrong. And rather than remove my previous comment and just pretend I didn’t make it, I choose to share my experience and admit that I was wrong. Thanks for calling me out and sharing your experience. But because it’s an app that operates off a randomized but redundant program, and because of the human tendency for pareidolia, I still must apply skepticism; work to explain, debunk or verify results; and employ the requirement of a unique password. I would recommend others do the same. Happy hunting!

I advise anyone that wants to start this as a hobby not to start, and those that are currently doing it to please consider stopping. I was an avid ghost hunter for over 7 years and even helped produce/host a ghost hunting TV show. I've experienced first hand how dangerous, malicious, and deceptive these entities can be. But that wasn't enough to get me to stop... God's conviction made the scales fall off my eyes and as a Born Again Christian I was able to see the truth for the first time. As the Bible teaches, all "ghost” are actually Satans demons in disguise masquerading as lost loved ones, or historical figures, or veiled as regular people, which can certainly mess with you and lead you to believe that they are something that they aren’t. These evil spirits can do harm to us physically, mentally, and especially spiritually. Demons have a lie and a deception for everyone - mediums, ghost hunting, tarot cards, psychic readings, fortune telling, divination, seances, or anyone that inquires upon the dead (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) - these are all lies and distractions. Satan would like nothing more than for people to dabble in these occult arts. God’s commandments regarding these things are designed to protect us from the schemes of the devil, who “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). I’ve learned that there is no “middle area” where humans that have passed away can reside and communicate with us. The souls and spirits of the dead are either in Heaven or hell and can’t communicate with the living (Matthew 25:46). But in order to promote the lie that they can impersonate demons, they mimic the voices and mannerisms of those that have died. Convincing those communicating with them that death doesn’t lead to judgment and end in heaven or hell. God wants all of us (as His children) to follow Him. I pray that you all open up your mind and your heart to Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and God our creator. He changes lives (my life has changed so much for the better after becoming a Christian) and accepting Jesus as the Lord and Savior. God helps heal us, protect us, and guide us. He forgives us of our past sins, and helps guide our lives toward a better way of living. It's never too late for anyone.
