Good work. But I didn't notice any DPM in the building slab? Also I want to know why you decided to use block for fdn, why not a concrete beam??

Hi Shola, thanks for the comment. We had a damp proof membrane before we cast the floor slab. We used blocks for the foundation because this is not a swampy area, we encountered a very strong soil (like rocks) during the foundation excavation - so differential settlement shouldn’t be a problem. Also, this is a bungalow, so not a lot of load going to the foundation - using a concrete beam will cost more without significant justification

400,000NGN to 800,000NGN. This varies based on the complexity of the design, but it sure cost money to have even a simple parapet. This cost is for material and workmanship. This include: appr 60 bags of cement, 1 trip of chippings, 1 trip of sharps sand (small truck), reinforcement (28 no 12mm, 30no 10mm, & 25no 8mm), half roll of binding wire, workmanship for iron benders, timber (2x4, 2x3, 1x12), nails, workmanship for carpenters, workmanship for mason and laborer, bamboo for supporting etc.. I am working on a detailed video that will breakdown the cost in details. I only mentioned the above, so you can have an idea before I get the video out to you. Hope this helps
