Something I never really noticed or considered until listening to this opening a few times is that this intro is a collab between Parappa & MilkCan. You can pick out Katy’s bass and Ma-chan’s drums in the background track and can even hear bits and pieces of Lammy’s guitar resampled in the first 20 or so seconds. It’s actually really cool to hear the gang working together, and it also hints at the Hair Scare encounter later into the game. Kinda makes me wonder if they’d expand on that kind of idea in a Parappa 3 or something.

I love this menu. It's made in such a way where you can just stare at it forever. I know everything is on a simple animation loop but there's something so fun and kind of hypnotizing about everything jumping and bopping around to the music. Forgot to mention that the music is fun as hell to listen to

And another reason why I love De La Soul. They're the only rappers that I know that would be perfect for a game series for this. It's a shame they did not win their grammy nomination, but that was suspected since their latest album didn't do the greatest compared to the other nominees. Would really recommend ya'll who have never listened to De La Soul, to check their music out, because this is just a taste of what they have to offer.

A lot of De La’s participation in this makes sense if you have heard one of the skits from their original ‘89 album “3 Feet High and Rising.” I’m pretty sure it was “Brain-Washed Follower?” Where they say: “We don't wear gold chains, we'd rather spend our money on more Important things like, equipment, necessities and VIDEO GAMES” I have the 2001 reissue of the CD and I played the heck out of it in my old car. lol I accidentally discovered this one day when I was admiring the animation. interestingly enough, in the American version which I cant find on KZbin, the beginning part where the rap starts is different. another thing I accidentally found is that when I wait on the title screen sometimes instead of this song playing it goes to a stage but you don’t play, it auto plays and stops at lesson 4. at first I thought I was playing it and was so proud… except I wasn’t lol.
