Rashi says that had the people repented at the last minute, the rain could have been transformed into a rain of blessing, only when they refused to repent did it become a flood. 😢

The Lord said he would never flood the earth again. But there is always fire and comets. Repent and believe!

G-d won't flood the entire world, but that doesn't mean parts won't be wiped out...tsunamis, hurricanes, and so the list goes. Sammyvh11, you hit the nail on the head about teshuvah and bitachon & emunah. Shabbat Shalom.
