I'm curious as to why Lymphatic Filariasis' prevalence is not found in most of the Americas? And with the human population traveling the world more, will this prevalence change?? I know of a person in the U. S. that lost her leg due to Elephantiasis. Please help the western countries' doctors learn more about parasites and infectious disease. Thanks for the great presentation and valuable information.

@@cleetx3546 I am sorry to hear about your conditions. I am noticing trends in infectious disease, as a whole. I noticed they are pretending infectious disease is in decline. Over population of a intermingling species has never led to disease decline. The real reason for this pretension seems to be coming from their lack of adequate education. Seems the medical society is stuck in old belief systems and notNeither Anyway, I noticed another trend. I would say, the countries hard hit by this recent pandemic are actually the countries with the 'highest' infectious disease prevalence.

@@cleetx3546 the GDP is not factoring in immunity, health or a real life span. Its only factoring in a pretend standard that does not equate to reality. Life Expectancy (~70+) is not the same as Life Span (~144+). We are still dyeing young with a low quality of life. Wealth, luxury goods, necessities, and comforts do not represent a safe healthy environment. GPD is just a Fairy Godmother waving magic wands of pretend that abruptly goes away at the strike of 12.

I am in Texas and have been clinically diagnosed with a microfilarea infestation by general practitioners but they refer us to infectious disease doctor's and those doctors won't even look at you while they tell you that you can't get these types of parasites in the USA and that's only if your doc can get you in to see an infectious disease doctor. We have also been referred to the Mayo clinic which told us that they are only accepting patients with gastrointestinal parasites.

I am a farmer who just knew enough about counting eggs in livestock poop before this happened. Now I have been forced to learn more crap then I would have ever needed to try to figure out what family, genus,, and species we are dealing with and then try to find out which of my livestock meds might help. Bottom line our livestock receive more humane treatment than any US citizen who realizes they have a parasite.

@@cleetx3546 I'm just setting off on the journey myself. Confirmed. Lordyday, I know more about parasites from the last two weeks, than any human should ever know. All I know is I've been one sick puppy for a few months now, and these things are no joke. I live out in the middle of nature, always playing in the dirt and what not. God only knows where or how I got. I feel depleted, drained, grossed out, violated..... Ugh. Worst thing ever. Totally not trusting the Drs to get it right and rid me of them permanently. These things need their life cycle broken. They give you a one time med,and out the door you go. Gonna be a diligent pain in the ass. 😂 I WILL be rid of these buggers. Omg. I've got some ptsd going on after all this. Lol If I don't laugh,I'll cry. Good luck to you. This stuff sucks monkey butt bigtime. Life is so weird. Everything is a 'host' for something. @@themysticmuse1111 it is extremely tough. The only doctor's that help me not kill myself on deadly concoctions are doctors that are not part of the big physicians groups and that do not use the electronic medical record system EPIC. It is the strangest thing to be living a real life tin foil hat scenario lol. Arming yourself with a microscope and the free benchaids available is a good place to start. Hold on tight to the scientific method because our healthcare clinicians have seemingly forgotten the concept. It has been the most dehumanizing thing that I have ever dealt with. I will speak out about this issue until I die. I have gotten to the point that I accept that no doctor is going to pick up a microscope on our behalf. I fight the narrative that has conditioned our thoughts about man's oldest nemesis in this country. There are no citations to any vector surveillance data that would back the claims that our vectors do not carry the pathogens that they do elsewhere. I need to see reports on how many vectors were sampled and dissected and what was found. I also want to know how often they do surveillance.

I was attacked by noseeums in the Adirondack mountains in June of 2001, and have been exhibiting symptoms of filariasis for 22 years. I finally convinced my primary care physician to order a blood smear. Do you have any suggestions for labs that specialize in analysis of these types of organisms ?
@nutrinutbob
@nutrinutbob 6 ай бұрын
Onchocerciasis would be more likely with black flies. Various species are found in North American deer, clear up to the arctic circle. It also being filarial in nature, symptoms are sometimes similar. Some times they are in the blood, but mostly the lymph, so a smear can miss them. A physician can have NIH Parasitology test blood.

When I was at the peak of my suffering from parasitic disease I started looking for the vector surveillance data. I asked my county and the two neighboring counties for their vector surveillance records. I was specific to ask for how many vectors are regularly collected and looked at for filarial worms. All of them told me that they do not do surveillance for filarial worms. They also told me that heartworm disease is present but all of that surveillance is based off of diagnoses from veterinarians not from analyzing our vector population. Filarial worms are notoriously zoonotic. All of our animals domesticated and wild have to contend with vector borne parasitic infestestations. There is no logical or scientific explanation as to why people do not get them here.

@@mj-je7el every species has a lifespan. If you have a reproducing filarial worm then you also contend with thousands of microfilarea. The microfilarea can live a year or so in the tissues if they don't get picked up by a vector. The immune system does not recognize them as nonself until they are dying or dead. It really is a fascinating subject. Dickson only scratches the surface of the topic.

Can ivermectin help treat lymphedema and lipodema
@cleetx3546

Lymphedema is normally caused by damage that is done when the worm dies. Once the damage is done I have not heard of it being reversible. Ivermectin does not reduce Lymphedema but it reduces the chance of Lymphedema occurring and only kills the microfilarea and not the adults.
