Parc Monceau, Paris, France

The Parc Monceau is one of the most beautiful parks in Paris-which is saying a lot, considering that Paris parks in general tend to be beautiful. It's a large park on the northwest side of the city, popular with the well-to-do Parisians who live in the area. It is notable for its "follies": fake ruins and monuments intended to bring to mind exotic places. It also has places for kids to play, and vast spaces in which to relax. It even has Wi-Fi. This video shows some of the highlights of the park.

I had a job around here and used to spend my off time sitting in this park. It was like a dream! I saw happy children taking pony rides, and the beauty of this park is incredible. It is really hard, however, to judge the green spaces in and around Paris! There are so many of them! Even in my grungy near suburb, they make a huge effort to put garden space in everywhere. I really appreciate it. I can be very soothing on a stressful day! Uprated.

So this is the park where Gustave Caillebotte painted some of his most iconic works. I must say that it's stunning and I imagine that it looks, more or less, the way it did in his day. Thank you for this video.

Excellent video. I love the way you shoot different angles of a area, very detailed, and your dialog box is excellent too. I feel like you have taken me on a wonderful tour of that park. It usually comes late, as the poster says here, except for an exceptionally dry year, when you can find late September possible. It is nearly November and we have had a cool and rainy year this year, in Paris, so the trees are only just now changing. I highly recommend the Vexin region of France, to the West of Paris, not far, and it is actually accessible by public transport. Gambais comes to mind. Egad, the trees! Thatched roof cottages! Lavoirs! It is fabulous.

Another great video!..educationa lcaptions and visual appealing as always. By-the-way, I can see video evolution. I especially liked your transition shots showing the same scene but at different times. For example, the exotic planting plots and how it looked after the plants were removed. I think it would be great to see similar videos of Los Angeles. I haven't been there in years, but I used to hang around some of the nicer parts and it would be very nice to see some good HD videos of the city, without hokey music or talking heads or music-video cuts. I say go for it!

The joggers were not as present last I was there. and the island with the willow seems smaller, perhaps it's just an aspect of the camera perspective. I never knew about the parachute jump.

Thanks for posting another lovely video of the world's most gorgeous city! I don't want to ask you to reveal any trade secrets but how do you get such a steady shot? And are you shooting at 1080 or 720? I'm about to try my hand at doing the same thing in my city of Los Angeles - which is quite baffling and bewildering for most visitors and I think videos as well put together as yours could be helpful for many people in planning their visit. All of my videos are shot in high definition at 1080, except for a couple early videos that were at 720. You can crank up the resolution on this video to 1080 if you want to see it at full resolution. The steady shot comes from holding the camera still and having a very good active image stabilization system on the camera (which is just a small Sony consumer camera). Also, when shooting hand-held, using wide angles helps with stability. And the more you practice, the steadier you get.

March 31 is both a Sunday and a holiday, so shops will generally be closed. Places like restaurants, cinema, and museums should be open, however.

My impression is that most of the people in the park are Parisians from the local neighborhood, although people from all over the city know about the Parc Monceau. There are surprisingly few tourists, even though major tourist areas are quite close by.
