Una perla del lago di Como ...davvero spettacolare il vostro racconto e tour di villa Carlotta. Tra arte e natura, la botanica è anche una mia passione e lì c'è una vasta raccolta di agrumi e altre specie davvero particolari. Il giardino all'Italiana e romantico e immagino in primavera il tripudio di fioriture e profumi che si vedono e si sentono, certo in luglio lo scenario è alquanto suggestivo. Bellissimi i muri antichi, il rudere che si vede alla fine e le piante aromatiche. Grazie per il racconto di Rossella che mette in risalto i particolari di queste aree della villa. My dear friend Joseph , thank you for your time and for the beautiful comment, it was an unexpected fortune to learn about it (in this small town on Lake Como). there lived a small English community and over time, in addition to having built a large hotel for their compatriots, they wanted, thanks to their funds, to build a small Anglican church for their community!!! Well yes,... In this fascinating historic residence it is evident how the wealth of the era was manifested through certain gentlemen in their obsession with the cult of beauty and collecting!! It is truly true that together with the village servants they loved to build sumptuous gardens full of plants of all kinds! but also artistic artefacts by great artists of the time!! It was like a competition to see who could have the most beautiful villa, the richest villa! Today we have these rare pearls.... thanks to the sacrifices and whims of those gentlemen!
