Word of advice, I would be very cautious with that small a gap between down tube and front tyre @8:09, looks like only 1-2 mm. If a small rock sticks to the tyre or you have any kind of play in the head set the front tyre can lock up and send you over the bars. A prior BMC TT bike had some issues with too small clearance exactly there if paired with larger tyres and sent several riders over the bars with some nasty injuries to follow.

Bought this wheelset over the winter but struggling with whether to setup tubeless or just run tubes. Which tape did you end up using with your setup? Did you ever run tubes in the disc? Latex or tpu? I imagine I would need 40mm valve length or shorter which is incredibly hard to find. Would you carry a tube for backup? Some tpu brands caution to not let tpu tubes come in cotact with sealant. Trying to decide best setup for Ironman racing. Thanks for the video!

I ended up using the stans tape but also get along well with the muc off tape. Other than my first few rides, i have only run tubless. Seemed to go up just fine with TPU and that’s what I carry in my spares for middle and full distance tri. For the disk I do have a 40mm tpu but it’s very tight and the silca eolo 3 will only just about fit in there and that’s pretty tiny. Thankfully never had to put a tube in though so I can’t say if it does or doesn’t work with the sealant. Personally I don’t see why there would be a problem so I would need that one explained to me. I do also carry the tubless wormy plugs as well because I would always try that one first in the disk wheel to save some hassle. For sealant I always use the silca tubless sealant as fingers crossed, it hasn’t let me down so far. It does a better job than any other sealant I have used personally. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Sadly I run 650b wheels on my tt bike (because of my xs legs ) And can’t find any discs in my size

If I come by any I like, I will send a link your way. Otherwise may be worth looking into the ezy disk wheel cover for your wheelset!

Do I still need tubeless tape for a disc wheel since there are no holes?
@cyclingunboxed17 күн бұрын
You don’t but for some reason I felt like it was naked without it so I put it in anyway.

what is the size of the bike and how tall are you? Thanks you.

I am 192cm Road: 58cm frame TT/ the Ordu: size M/L (medium frame with a taller saddle. It is right on the edge of the saddle height for me and the stem is as low as it goes without chopping it. It’s just about perfect for me so wanted the smaller frame. I am also long legged short body. I hope that helps.

Im hesitant between this and the hed wheelset

I wish I could help you with this one but unfortunately have no experience with the heds. Ronny Kuba seems to think the heds are some of the fastest on the market and they sit second in aerocoaches testing. I think the main reason I went for the oarcours was that they actually showed test data compared to their old wheel sets and the price
