​‪@hypocrisy‬ is a Swedish death metal band formed in October 1991 in Ludvika by Peter Tägtgren. After spending three years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1990, founder Peter Tägtgren returned to his homeland of Sweden, to form his own band. Hypocrisy's early releases were noted as being well-executed death metal, but panned for not being particularly innovative. That criticism waned as the band matured, cultivating a more distinctive sound as well as employing an introspective lyrical approach. Later releases have a more atmospheric sound, with lyrical exploration of aliens and abduction experiences.

Hypocrisy became well known for conspiracy theories and alien lyrics, the first two albums are straight death metal with Satanic lyrics, then the OG vocalist left, peter started doing the vocals and started writing different lyrics. Up until the Arrival, aliens where the biggest part of their music, after Virus (the next album) the lyrics became more straight up death metal, still one or two songs about aliens, but that was it, since then they have made a big return on the last album, called worship.

So this band is one of Peter Tägtgren's bands, his other band Pain is more industrial metal, and he's involved in tons of other stuff. Peter Tägtgren is one of those guys who can record albums 100% by himself, he plays everything and sings in multiple styles. His big theme is absolutely aliens! It's the main theme of a ton of his songs. If you want a really fun alien one check out Pain's Shut Your Mouth. The video is great.
